These phishing scam companies are terrible. Not only are they stealing peoples’ money and identities, i’ve heard about how they lure/trap the workers at their call centers from other third world countries. They’ll bait desperate people from various countries in Africa and Southeast Asia with the promise of work,pay for their flight to Thailand and Cambodia, and then take their passports and hold it hostage until they work off the debt from the cost of relocating. Predatory in every single aspect.
Sadly, Kampot (the province mentioned) is where my mom’s from and is very underdeveloped compared to the rest of Cambodia —which is saying a lot.
