Asian Culture Discussion Thread

I guess that'll show steve harvey! curious what you find interesting about this?? as i have spent an embarrassing amount of time over the past year watching all kind of niche YouTube videos I didn't know existed from daily clogs to makeup tutorials...and some making a decent amount of bank. the biggest YouTube channel is of a like a 5 year old named Ryan that reviews/plays with toys while his mom films the tune of a few million views almost every time out...
Interesting in the sense that I haven't seen many Asian guy + non-Asian chick, especially a younger, married couple.

And the chick seems ride-or-die with her man.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for it.

I follow this Cali dance crew full of Asian dudes called Kinjaz and most of them have white/Latina/non-Asian girls.

^ Yeah, he's Indian and his co-producer is Alan Yang, a Taiwanese dude.
did you ever watch the video of Alan Yang when he accepted a Emmy?

dude is an inspiration to me.

Absolutely, I don't think he expected to win, but his speech was great.

Effective, coherent, and straight to the point.

My Asian guy friends tend to date only Asian girls. Kinda weird since we live in NY and you see so many fine varieities of women. It's the female Asians I know who usually date other races.

I have a friend who lives in Korea as an English teacher and he told me he sees Korean guys with Western girls every now and then... But mostly Native Koreans stick within their own group since Korea is a super homogenous nation and culture.

What's funny is he told me that most Weatern girls who live in Korea are English teachers and they assimilate into Korean culture lol.

This, same where I'm located. I'm open minded, but really don't know how to approach a women of other ethnic background.

I remember watching this a while back and I actually just met a family member from Chicago and they agree with most of the video.

If the pre med one has a good sense of humor shes a keeper.

If she has a dark sense of humor marry her.
Pre-med = traditional + classy + really smart + long-term goal-oriented + I have to take more charge with her

Hypebae (hypebeast + bae) = works in fashion + has a lot of guy friends + almost as witty as me + very tomboy-ish

Both girls' parents are still married for 20+ years. This is really a big factor with me.

I wanna dip my lumpia in both their banana ketchup, faxx
Hypebae is back in play. Didn't think she was interested, convo stalled for 2 weeks, just asked her out again and she's down.

She is literally the female version of me + looks like the 25yo version of my mom.

After exclusively tasting Latina yambs, I'm curious to see what the halo halo tastes like.

It's not weird that she looks like your mom? My friend dated someone with the same name as his mom and that weirded him out a little.

Is it extra weird that she and my mom also have the same (shortened) name?

Hypebae officially out of play. Girl was showing interest, flaked, then showed interest, and then posts on Twitter: "Plz just be my friend. I'm not trying to date anyone from now until forever."

You either succeed or you learn. I did the latter.

On to the next one. Thanks to everyone for entertaining this.

Slick want to date/experience a hypebae but I don't think I would be capable of handling her.

What do you mean?

They're too masculine?
:lol idk, are they? Jk, I feel they may be too materialistic? Maybe I just need to be more open minded and just take a shot but it seems hypebae's in my city aren't really common anymore. Or would the current hypebae be considered the thrasher tee and adidas shell toes type of girl? Please enlighten me on this anyone.

I consider any chick who's into streetwear/sneakers and listens to that new wave of R&B/hip-hop a 'hypebae.'

I definitely agree with you on the too materialistic thing.

:lol
Dated one materialistic girl, I rather not do it again :lol especially with me not being into streetwear or sneakers that much anymore.

If I was single, I don't think I could date a 'hypebae'.

I'll go for the hipster/coachella lover types.
