Pretty crazy how kpop so pretty popular here but we’ve yet to see an asian American make big noises in the music industry here. I know Jay Park is doing his thing but he’s still pretty unknown to the mainstream. Dude is mad talented too. Can sing, dance and rap

the whole kpop industry has its own things that separates it from western pop imo.
everything from the variety shows they go on, the dance moves, being in groups, and even the language.
also, western pop isnt really popping like that. Americans are more into hiphop/rap.

I wouldn't really define these videos that you posted as typical "kpop" vibe as you call it.............this was pretty K-R&B that just happened to get some "kpop mainstream" attention.
The JOAH track may be the one where I can say is pretty "kpop'ish" in terms of sound..........while the SOLO track sounds like a DJ Mustard-produced R&B style track that Chris Brown or Trey Songz could've done.
I can feel you in a sense though, Jay Park's rap records are usually a hit-or-miss for me as well.........but I do ****s with some of his rap tracks at the same time when they're decent.

I went to elementary school in the Philuppines. What African influence are you pertaining too? Maybe African current events at that time ( e.g. Apartheid in South Africa when we have Social Studies Classes).
Maybe now, in Uni, probably in businsss class, e.g. Business cases pertaining to China's Belt Road Initiative.
With regards to the video you posted, there isn't much African History, that's just a spec. It may have been discussed in History Class, but just like niche studies, it's probably in some arts course in college. Countries in Asia have their own country's respective history to deal with already. I know at the elementary school level, we look at our own county's history.

I didn’t grow up in the US. Apartheid in SA was probably the most talked about that’s relevant to what you’re asking. MLK too. Other than that, history and social studies was focused on our own history and issues

I more so meant do your home countries' acknowledge the presence of Africans as being the first people that occupied the land.
I assume it is similar to how our history breezes over Native Americans and their contributions to society but at lease we acknowledge that we wiped them out.
