Asian Culture Discussion Thread

Never knew the acronym existed til i saw yall posting it on here.

Do yall use that in real life too?

Usually in conversations among my closest ppl.........otherwise, you will never catch me walking up to some random ABG chick asking "are you an ABG?" or something involving speaking that term out in the public

yea, I think the whole ABG thing is more of a cali thing.. heard some Canadians say it too.

you west coast asians are weird

jk

Y'all wouldn't really know unless you live near a Asian hood spot in California lol

The **** really did start out in Cali.........but then MySpace (you remember that ****?) and YouTube spread it to the rest of the Asian areas of the US and Canada.

First time I ever heard someone call out an ABG girl in an IRL conversation was back in 2007 when I was hanging out at a Filipino party one time and someone brought up their ex-gf. I literally LOLed when my homie straight up called her a "basic *** ABG"

A lot of us knew of those Asian girl types prior to having them labeled an "ABG," it was just Cali Asian decided to actually put a label on it first.

Man I'm from Carson and I aint never heard "ABG" before :lol

I'm old though maybe this is a youtube generation thing

Like I said........it is 2006 MySpace slang that ended up growing quicker due to YouTube.

Do you remember the term "AZN"

If you describe yourself with a racial slur, do you have the right to be mad if someone calls you it?

Smh
Immediately unfollowed and actually wanted to punch him the face.

First off, I know a lot of ABGs, most of them work at Vietnamese coffee shops. If you don't know what a Viet coffee shop is, look it up on YouTube. ABGs try to be all queen bee like but they're just sugar babies. Not a lot going on upstairs. I've only met one ABG that was truly gangsta who went to UC Berkeley, and went onto becoming a pharmacist.

Me, I consider myself a retired ABOG, I may look like one in real life, but that's my nice car, my nice bag, my nice job, and my man is my accessory, not the other way around. I went and got myself an APA and retired from that scene.

you sound like someone with a big head

I hope you're not talking to me. I learned my lesson about my decisions. It's all fake. All material thing can't replace relationships and family. As I mentioned, I retired because I grew up. I didn't what to be tossed aside for when someone better and younger comes around.

ESSJ and Cupertino/Saratoga - home of the ABGs.

I'm from ESSJ. I went to college in Cupertino (De Anza College) before transferring to SJSU.

Sorry boss, I'm old now. 8)
