I've been noticing a lot more cigarette smoking going on out in public lately.
Are they back? Is it just my area?

which area you live in?Cigs are gross
At this point I’d rather smell weed than a cigarette
I haven't noticed it much in long island or manhattan. Mostly vapes still.Yes people smoke cigs heavily in New York State and nyc . I was a smoking New Yorker myself but I quit .. smoking cigs ain’t never been me. I like weed better.
Somebody probably done made a quarter mill off loosiesI haven't noticed it much in long island or manhattan. Mostly vapes still.
Now the key to all this, is that I never smoke a full pack (20 cigs) in one day. Thats the threshold when your clothes start reeking, your teeth yellow out and breath smells bad. Psychological effects like being highly irritable and ready to fight at the slightest inconvenience.

I started smoking/chewing gums at age 28. Benefits I've noticed
-Increased focus/concentration. With energy drinks, I never really felt the caffeine kick in but now it's like an explosion. My hand-eye coordination is ridiculous...it's like playing a video game that was on advanced mode on easy mode, the controller loosens up and isn't as rigid
-One beer hits like two. I get way more faded without having to drink much more. 50 cents for a cig vs 2 bucks for an extra beer (and having to go pee afterwards)
-At work, we only get a 30 min lunch, and two fifteens. But in between those, as a smoker I can take additional 10 minute breaks. I'm damn near getting an extra hour in breaks.
-It just facilitates conversations that would never happen if you didn't smoke. During these extended breaks, these older guys would walk up to me rambling about random stuff and I'd just nod my head and say "yup". Turns out 2 of them were upper management and put in a good word for me during my formal review. Up until that point I never got more than than a standard 3% pay raise but last year I got 6% and this year I got 10%.
-Like a second puberty, my voice has dropped and gotten deeper/gruffier. I was at the bank on Friday and there was this young Teller fresh out of school. As soon as I handed her my ID and told her what I needed, I noticed her demeanor got more bubblier/girly like. This happens all the time and never happened in my early 20s.

If it's raining any more than a slight sprinkle, I don't bother. So I estimate it's 6-7 per day, and on weekends I sometimes don't smoke at all. Your stereotypical smoker on the other hand has a pack a day habit, and is too stupid to buy a full carton and only pay the tax once. They probably spend an extra $150 a month than me, just based on the volume and tax.
That sends them down a never ending spiral of scratch off lottery tickets, driving 15-25 year old Altimas and Sentras with no AC/heat on suspended licenses and expired registration, Payday loans, Rent to Own stores, having multiple roommates in their 40s.
