Aqua 8s Black Friday 2015

So many associates sound disappointed about this release. Lol!

But honestly when was the last any 8 flew off the market? I know like many others I thought the colorway and the holiday hype would make this release an exception but it seems like at the end of the day this model jus doesn't have the same level of fanfare as the more popular models.

I dont know bro been wearing my pair alot and people been liking the shoes.

It might not be as bad as years past but I know there is a demand

the last 8i I remember that sold out was the playoff 8s on December 2007. The dbs don't count and the thirst(at least in MD and DC) was real for the playoffs. It was the holiday retro (before the xis) and was the first true retro of the playoffs

I don't know I remember the hype was pretty big on both aquas & playoffs back in 2007 all around.

Playoffs sold out in 1 day at both my local malls. Aqua's were there for weeks. But to be honest, these are the most liked color of the 8s, if people ain't checkin for these, they must really not like 8s at all

My local FTL here in Cincy did there raffle yesterday, and today.

I got one ticket, Champs & FL are doin' it this Sunday.

Did anyone who got a ticket from FTL ask them when they were goin' to call?

I forgot to ask.

I agree. In the current sneaker climate I'm surprised to see arguably the most popular color of this model being relatively slept on as a holiday release. I think it says a lot about how people feel about the 8's in general. They've always been a favorite of mine though.

Yeah, it was because I called Nike and gave them the style number of the OG 8's and they said retail was $140. Also, I saw an OG box and it had a footlocker price tag (Back when they put their own retail price sticker on shoe boxes)of $140.. Crazy, isn't it?

are you talking USD? Because the 8s were originally $125 and the 2003 pairs were $135. 2007s were $140.

Maybe you'd paid $140 because of tax.

That lighter gray and glitter really turned folks off


Just my opinion but I think if it were the 07s releasing the exact same way. The outcome (demand) would be different.

If anyone missed a raffle Champs should do there raffle this Sunday and Monday in many parts of the country . FYI

Thanksgiving week is a shortened work week, so stores gave out raffles tickets a week early so that they can prepare for the Black Friday madness.

Raffle tickets were also given out the week before Thanksgiving last year for the Black Infrared 6s.

From what I'm reading here, some stores will be extending the ticket distribution days since there seems less of an interest for the Aqua's compared to previous years.  My guess it's because people aren't feeling the OG treatment these have, the $190 price point, and/or the saturated amount of sneaker releases that have more of a demand than the Aquas.

Call around your area and see what information you can find out.

View media item 1791996OGs were lit. 2007s were lit and these lit. 5-7 years down the line 2007s will reach the $350 price range due to age and these will shoot up to $450 with rumors of a re-release again but they'll only be rumors.

Just imagine when Jordan's fade out completely. Every OG color will be lusted after

The 2013s didnt crack. My suns are my beaters 40-50+ wears and my playoffs are heavily worn. No issues

Most Champs here are doing a FCFS guaranteed ticket on Sunday

Taking it way back , but in'93 the Playoff 8s were on sales rack for like $65-70 . Even back then ppl weren't all crazy about them. Barely no pairs were instant sell outs, like many are today.

Im happy they actually were on sale , cause if not , itd been another 3-4 yrs before I was able to put the cash up from my own pocket. Shout out to Gram-Gram[emoji]128536[/emoji] for my 1st pair of Signatures. [emoji]128516[/emoji]

Didn't most cws of 11s sellout pretty aggressively in the 90s? My 1st Js were retro Columbias in the early 2000s (I bought them off of a friend for resale because he was trying to save up for Flightposites lol) and I recall people used to line up for them.
