Email only for now, but site notifications are coming.  It's more complicated to implement, so it may take some time.  Most users would rather have something than nothing, though, so, in the short run, it's limited to email.

For spam control purposes, there are limits to the number of times a user can "send" a quote notification - so it won't necessarily happen 100% of the time.  If a user has been quoting a ton of posts in the last 24 hours, the system will disregard new quotes.

You can also disable the notification emails if you like.  It's in your user settings, which are now accessible via the new dropdown menu.

Yeah, I think 1/3 of our traffic now comes via mobile.  I'm glad we addressed that need so successfully, but it's a double edged sword since mobile ad revenues are extremely weak.

How many topics per page do you want?

Hitting the "page down" key on a desktop is a lot simpler than loading a whole new page, and on the mobile site there's a down arrow shortcut on the right side of the screen to skip to the bottom of the page.

If there are a couple of threads in particular you're trying to keep up with, subscribing is by far the best way to do so.  You can get realtime updates on the front page, reply notifications on mobile, or even a full email subscription.

i just want the front page to look like the old niketalk where it had 20-25 topics for page.... now just browsing through the threads feels overwhelming compared to before

Definitely good work on the site though.

Compared to where we were before on yuku the difference is like night and day.

Even though EZ board essentially became yuku I don't remember it being as bad as yuku was.

I thought we were going to lose the site or the rights to it or the name when that dude that started up sneakertalk was pulling those antics.

So happy with the site now though.

Thanks for everything NT staff huddler people also.

I'm glad you appreciate the difference.

Ezboard "felt" better than Yuku because ezboard was actually ahead of the curve when it launched.  There's a reason why it was chosen as the platform for NikeTalk.  It had everything Nelson C and I were looking for.

Obviously times change.  You wouldn't be satisfied with a top of the line TV from 1999.  Yuku changed hands many, many times and, in my opinion, almost every single change was for the worse.  Obviously the platform's current owners showed their true colors with their sleazy "sneakertalk" knock-off.  They still have NikeTalk logos in the form of charity badges.  They're still shamelessly calling their Nike forum" Nike Talk."  They're still tagging EVERY SINGLE twitter post #NT.  They're pathetic.  Losing to them was never a possibility.

The best way to deal with an imitator is to make yourself inimitable.  We've worked very hard to make NT the best it can be over the years and it's nice to finally have a technology partner that takes similar pride in offering the best service possible.

More good stuff to come.
