My vote goes Mega Man 2. That’s when I became obsessed with video game music. All these years from childhood those 8-bit tracks still just pop in my head.

I would literally play til I got there and then sit the controller down for the whole 10 min.

I think Mike put his hand on this one. If you listen closely, the baseline is very close to Smooth Criminal.
 
Streets of rage 2 & 3 are one of my favorite ost’s. Super Street fighter 2 turbo also had a classic ost.
 
Can’t remember if this was posted.This entire album is flames. Chrono trigger rap album. Basically all the tracks from the game but turned into lofi beats with game reference type raps. Joint slaps. Entire album is on Spotify.

I’ll post more of my favorite VGMs that I casually would play from time to time. It’s so many lol

I follow these guys on YT called Rhythm & Pixels. They run a Live stream radio & play nothing but 8-bit & 16-bit VGMs 24/7 . I’ll have this play on my Google home devices if I’m cleaning up the house or working from home lol
