Today I spent most of the work day reading this NY Times Op-Ed piece and the resulting 200 comments...and not that its news to me, as opinions that I have longbelieved and expressed are starting to come to fruition...its just interesting to see the crystallization of this realization spreading across the nation.

Financially, America is finished...we're running on fumes.

Culturally, we're bankrupt.

Morally we're bankrupt.

We are letting the nutjobs dictate and derail policy and progression.

Absurdity is embraced by more than half of the population living in their own fantasy world.

All empires come to and end and frankly...that time is nearing for this Republic.

America...Its Time to Get Help.

We need to wipe the slate clean and start over. The "American System" is outdated, but people cling to the idea that America is right no matter what.I know I may sound crazy but a revolution is what this country needs.

We go through some rough times like every other fallen Empire (most recently Great Britain) andhopefully we are able to emerge as an wizened world power onve the dust settles.

But with the uniqueness and extremity of American culture and resources...things can get real ugly, real quick.

There is no job creation and a lot of angry people.

My dude, it is happening right now. I just feel bad because honestly there is nothing Obama can do about it but his administration and time in office will beviewed as a failure when it wasn't him but the system itself. America is going down the train.

I don't think that this leads to this Country's end just yet.
If anything I think this just means that the real reasons on why America is thriving will and are being bought to the forefront.

As long as I've been here on this earth and as much time as I spend looking back before I was here...
It has been really hard for me to find a place in time where America as an whole, was well and not declining in some sort.
With that said things are def speeding up.

hmm im assuming OP never heard of the great depression during the 1920s. . . Things happen, especially in a capitalistic ran country like our own. Just likeany cycle there are ups and downs give it a 3-5 years and you'll see. . .

Nah, I never heard of the Great Depression...I need to look into that.

Some one was telling me about somethings called World War 2, Industrialization and the New Deal. Right after i read about those things...i'll get to thatGreat Depression thing you mentioned.

End of entitlement systems, Debt approached half of the GDP, growing joblessness with no foreseeable relief, corrupt government, mass media propaganda, oldinfrastructure, energy dependence, debtor citizens, pitiful public education system, public unrest, warring in a land with a long and storied history ofcrushing Global Superpowers...cycles come and go. So do empires.

You think some magic button is going to be pressed and all will be well again?
