But here is my question, do you honestly believe that Nader is qualified to run a country? Granted I voted for him in my first election (2000) but the idea of that man taking a job as complex as president of the United States scares the hell out of me. One of my main issues with Obama is he is all unachievable rhetoric, but Nader is living on the moon in comparision.
Not qualified? A man who has accomplished this:

Instrumental in the passing of the following legislation:
  • Clean Air Act
  • Clean Water Act
  • Consumer credit disclosure law
  • Consumer Product Safety Act
  • Co-Op Bank Bill
  • Federal Coal Mine Health and Safety Act
  • Foreign Corrupt Practices Act
  • Freedom of Information Act
  • Funeral home cost disclosure law
  • Law establishing Environmental Protection Agency
  • Medical Devices safety
  • Mine Health and Safety Act
  • Mobile home safety
  • National Automobile and Highway Traffic Safety Act
  • National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act
  • Natural Gas Pipeline Safety Act
  • Nuclear power safety
  • Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA)
  • Pension protection law
  • Safe Water Drinking Act
  • Tire safety & grading disclosure law
  • Whistleblower Protection Act
  • Wholesome Meat Act
  • Wholesome Poultry Product Act
If anyone, Nader would be the ideal president. The man's WHOLE life is dedicated to fighting for consumers and all people in this country-- to himserving the public is a vocation. He's done more for American than most presidents.

and as for the thread, i cant regret something i never did ...

How can you call Obama a joke after we spent 8 years under the Bush administration. . Some of you are really ignorant. . it takes time to fix issues that putus in this situation in the first place. Its kind of sad that Obama is probably going to end up like Carter, a good president that was in office at the wrongtime. .

How much longer is that excuse going to be available?

As for the Carter comment....

If you think unemployment is bad now---during Carter's term it reached 10%

Just curious, so are you blaming Obama for the unemployment?

You know that unlike the stock market, unemployment is the longest and latest thing to be effected in a recession. Unemployment is a result of consumerconfidence, real market status, and ability to spend. As both the former decrease the latter also decreases. No spending, less jobs, less jobs less ability tospend. Its a circle. Can you see how employment keeps taking a steady hit during far after the worst state of the recession?

But you honestly, truly, levy our unemployment problem with Obama's policies. Which ones?

You konw what, I'm gonna give you the benefit of the doubt that you don't believe he is cause of unemployment. Are you then perhaps unhappy with thelevel of reaction by Obama? Are you blaming him for not having fixed the problem some odd billion dollars later?

Again, as I said, I voted for Nader in 2000 & have seen him speak multiple times, so I am well aware of the accomplishments which he and his supportersfeel the need to speak on ad nauseum. But again, what in his vast experience as a consumer advocate proves to you he is qualified to run one of the mostpowerful nations in the world? I appreciate his dedication, but no part of any of these accomplishments tell me that he is able to make hard decisionsreguarding the nations welfare or foriegn policy. You can have the best intentions in the universe, you can be the most honest and above board individual, butthat does not mean you can run a country. Next you are going to tell me you would vote for Michael Moore. Don't get me wrong, I would say alot of the samethings about Obama, but we need a canidate with both credability and leadership qualities. Nothing about Ralph Nader suggests to me he has any ability to lead.My assumption is that this was your first election though, so I can only hope this will provide a learning experience for you in the future.

Unemployment today can be traced all the way back to Reagan, imo.

Reagan pushed hard for corporatism (see GE, see Don Reagan wiht Merrill Lynch), Bush 41 continued the trend, Clinton de-regulated Wall Street thus contributingto speculative gambling, Bush 43 was a corporate puppet serving only to help the fat cats like exxon mobile and Haliburton get fatter and Obama is continutingthe trend of corporatism (see his bailout vote, his campaing contributors at www.opensecrets.org, his pro-ceo health package, etc).

So no, it's not all Obama's fault but he's surely not doing anything to curb unemployment.

Don't speak down to me. I've voted multiple times for Nader and will continue to do so as long as he runs.

Maybe those who voted for a candidate who chose to hand a free $700 Billion to corporate crooks who should be in jail need a "learning experience".

btw his real clear politics average approval is 52.5%, it was 62.5% when he went into office... Disapproval has gone from around 20% to 42%...

can't say I voted for him ... but I did vote ... I figured who knew better about getting old than one of the oldest man on the planet???

No regrets at all. I wasn't expecting the second coming of Jesus or miracles to be created in what, 9 months he's been in office? Give the man sometime, Bush had 8 years can we even get one out of the way before we start thinking bout regrets. Bush at a ranch somewhere with umbrella drinks just chillinknowing he left this country in shambles.
