Almost a year since the election---Do you regret voting for Obama?

That is, those who voted for him.

I didn't vote for Obama. I voted for a man who received around 700,000 votes (Ralph Nader). Some may says it's a wasted vote but to me it's avoting with my conscious, not straying from my convictions. I believe the current form of "democracy" in this country is unhealthy. As one can see,Obama and McCain raised the most money---- they were also the only two candidates permitted to debate, thus they received the most votes (see table below). It's difficult to say 3rd parties should not be allowed to vote or that they are irrelvent (google Ross Perot, Matt Gonzalez or Jesse Ventura if youdon't believe me). Also, both parties disgust me with their devotion to big business--- is there any wonder zerocommitte hearings were held over the bailouts?

As one can tell I'm not a fan of either party. Republicans= Democrats=Republicrats

... but I digress, what are thoughts on Obama now? If you voted for him do you regret it?

Barack Obama (D)$532,946,511$513,557,21869,498,215$7.39
John McCain (R)$379,006,485$346,666,42259,948,240$5.78

No, Fox News and their listners alike would like you to think that. His approval has actually barely risen to 51% with a disapproval rating of43%. If you don't believe that's anything but stellar make a comparison of the approval ratings of our last 4 presidents.

I'll recap how this post will go;. People will say

  • "Obama hasn't done any change he's just the same as Bush" - to which I say, turn on CSPAN and crawl out the dark cave you've been living in.
  • or "He's spending money like crazy" - further proving they have no grasp on the complexities on a bailout and the situation we are in. I in fact believe we needed much more stimulus money. As I've often said, yeah itll add to the deficit but but the 80 billion spent will be insignificant compared to the end goal of closing our output gap of nearly 1.2 trillion in two years. Especially when the only other option is to, in a weak economy, allow that much money to be spent naturally and wait the decades it will take to naturally close the output gap. While every year wasting trillions is potential GDP growth and revenue for the sake of frugal "government spending". The bailout issue is far more complicated than your Fox News anchor will ever say....My biggest beef about the bailouts is not enough regulation to these companies we've invested a ton of money to. But then again repubs would cry Socialism or something ridiculous.

I didn't vote for Obama, I voted against McCain, a fact I'm not entirely happy with.

But here is my question, do you honestly believe that Nader is qualified to run a country? Granted I voted for him in my first election (2000) but the idea ofthat man taking a job as complex as president of the United States scares the hell out of me. One of my main issues with Obama is he is all unachievablerhetoric, but Nader is living on the moon in comparision.

I don't regret voting for him. I just wish he wasn't so nice to all those republicans who just hold everything up. He should just run the damn thingsthrough congress and all.

i didn't vote. that was my way of protesting this whole illusion of choice. democrats and republicans are essentially 2 factions OF THE SAME PARTY. theyhave only SURFACE DIFFERENCES while having the same common ULTIMATE GOAL. what is that goal?? NEW WORLD ORDER!! we're done either way man. i already knewobama was a controlled puppet. the presidency is nothing more than a puppet seat. anyone who knows anything about the inner workings of this country knowsthis. that way, when the ppl get tired of the way things are going, the ones who are really running things can easily swap out the puppet while they still runthe show from behind the scenes, void of any public scrutiny.

also, us black folks have absolutely no excuse for failure now, do we?? i mean, considering we have a black man in office now. that means ANYTHING is possible, right??

No regrets.

Considering if it was the other way around, Palin would be a heartbeat away from the Presidency.

No thanks.

Let me guess JFK was the last real president not controlled....
And presidents now are all controlled by an all powerful and secretive select few bankers, yet who leave us clues about their devious plots.

And the federal reserve is the root of the problem? Am I right.

You conspiracy theorist make me laugh. Such elaborative theories, thatexplain simple things in a much more complex and unlikely fashion.
