The NBA announced a nine-year, $24 billion extension with ESPN/Turner this past October, but before that on a podcast with maybe Klosterman, I remember Bill Simmons speculating on his future, saying that he'd follow whoever has the broadcasting rights with the NBA. He was saying he couldn't ever see himself not being able to benefit off of the resources that that offers and that it just wouldn't work otherwise.
That tells me:
1.) He will be back with ESPN after a sizable amount of time, maybe six months-1 year, for less than the $6 million per year salary he was asking for (according to Deadspin).
2.) He will be with Turner in some capacity. If that, it's important to remember how closely-knit Turner/Bleacher Report are, and Ric Bucher's ties with BR + how good of a relationship Bucher/Simmons have.
That tells me:

I dont think it was a coincidence TNT briefly showed him on TV last night. I'm sure he's getting offers from everyone. I think he takes the high road and quietly moves on. He still has friends there and doesnt want to burn any bridges.

The only reason Bill is quiet right is now is because he's writing an 80,000 word diss article about ESPN. No doubt in my mind he's firing shots left and right while fielding offers on his phone all day.

doubt simmons even discusses this issue. you dont fire shots at a mammoth like ESPN/Disney and expect not to feel ramifications. Other networks won't look kindly at that behavior.
