All Things Sports Media Thread!!

Air McNair a legend but the ending of this was weird.

The cops said she did it and the PI said the other guy was involved but never questioned. Then they played a couple interviews with him that were mad suspect. It was weird how they didn’t clear that up.

Someone gotta replace skip

And I wouldn’t call simmons the murderer per se.. if anything I’d blame him for barstool, which seemed like the inevitable step for what bill was doing

Nick is going down the road of SAS and skip with some of the stuff he says/does.. which is disappointing

Can you explain this? Never really knew what Barstool was about outside of random Twitter video posts.

The Athletic's college sports getting killed the last few weeks, yeesh.

Bring back the Sports Reporters, but none of the guests are actual reporters. :lol

More The Sports Broadcasters with this format , than anything but it definitely could open up the possibility of having some of the OG's back on if they can do it from the comfort of their own home.

Figure it'll be a revolving door of panels weekly like the OG show was, hopefully with more writers/journos in the future.

A lot of sportswriters aren't even sportswriters anymore.

Newspapers have laid off so many of them over the years.

Ya, they have to be multi-skilled and do video, podcasts, etc to go with their writing.

But there are plenty of reporters out there. Especially if ESPN can cast a wide-net and not just be ESPN-centric.

Devin Harris played in over 1,000 games from 2005-2019, and he had a front row seat to plenty of historic moments. In this episode, Harris shares what it was like guarding Dwyane Wade in the 2006 Finals, losing to the We Believe Warriors in the 2007 First Round, playing for Mark Cuban, mentoring Luka Doncic and Jalen Brunson in his last year and more.

The 2000-01 Hornets experienced big changes before the season, shipping out Eddie Jones and Anthony Mason for Jamal Mashburn and PJ Brown. Baron Davis, a 21-year-old point guard, emerged as one of the best young players in the league. Baron Davis joins FS Creator Dylan Dreyfuss to relive his breakout season. They discuss the league, what made the Hornets so special, and more.

Ricky Davis has come a long way. He entered the league as a 17-year-old kid from Davenport, Iowa, and over the next 12 years would share the court with some of the best players to ever lace up. FS creator Dylan Dreyfuss is joined by 8-year NBA veteran and current media mogul, Jelani McCoy. Jelani and Ricky are both members of the 1998 NBA Draft class and were teammates with the 2003/04 Cleveland Cavs.

Davis relives many of the stops in his journey, most notably the early 2000's with the Heat and Cavs, a 2005 season in Boston in which he finished runner-up in the Sixth Man of the Year voting, and his final stops in Minnesota and Miami. Over his career, Davis was labeled as a journey man, and sometimes even worse as a "good stats, bad team" guy. While he was aware of some of the narratives clouding him, it only fueled him to keep going and do what he loved most: getting buckets.

Other conversation points include NBA accessory culture in the 2000s, the great/forgotten Dajuan Wagner, 2005 First Round matchup vs. the Malice Pacers, the fabled UCLA Men's league, his infamous triple double, baptizing Steve Nash and more.
