I miss the days when there were TV commercials for the new Air Jordan’s..
I wish they’d stop dishing out so many sig lines to players and keep them in PE versions of the latest AJ.IMO they should just stop making the Air Jordan sig line ( should have stopped at XX3) and focus on the sig models of their signed players that are actually playing in the NBA.
Bottom line is the new signature series releases would def benefit from some decent advertising. Like have a commercial with MJ or someone to promote it.. like the old days. Now there’s almost no marketing from them at all.
It’s not stopping anytime soon. And I’m glad. The 33 was the 5th best selling b-ball shoe this year with no advertisement. I’d say it’s doing ok. I still get excited for it every year. More than any retro.
XVII coppers.Jordan commercials were dope!!! Remember when he played a game vs himself? I think it was Jordan XV
16-21 is all fire
I too think the XX3 should have been the last sig. Not that Im saying others after are bad because they are not. But at some point in time the brand has to focus more on the new athlete and not MJ. The retro division would take care of that. Zion for example, to put him in this upcoming 34 would be a bad idea. Why? Because the thought would then be Zion is being told to promote MJs shoe. Still about MJ. But if he has his own model, then it lets the consumer know they are invested in that player. Now its about Zion.
They have done it before. Was it successful? Depends on who you ask. But if you really want to push a new athlete, you make a shoe for THEM. Not just a cool "pe" that nobody can really buy anyway. Again let the retro be all about MJ. Let the new designs be about the new players.
Think there may be an unveling tomorrow. Got a message from Jordan brand account on FB.
“We’re about to change the game forever, you ready? Check in tomorrow to see what the hype is about.”
