The tie-ins haven’t really been heavy since the 37, I'd say its been quite loose since then. A subtle design cue, or a colorway nod, that's been about it.

Think they said they were done with the inspiration from an old shoe gimmick. The 40’s, ironically, took inspiration from 4-5 different shoes
