Says my sh! T shipped, so guess I got lucky. I really like this model. And Sol colorway was my favorite at the beginning, then I switched to the Noir and I haven't had a black Jordan since the 32. Couldn't pass up this deal though

$82 pair arrived from Hibbet 🙌🏽. Kind of want to try painting the white piece in the front black. Which paint would work the best?

Have great results using Jacquards Lumiere paints, bonds well and is made for rubber parts including midsoles.
Be sure to have some thinner on hand as its really thick in consistency. Heat set a couple thin layers throw on finisher and should be good to go.
Hit the 39s tip with their Pearlescent white for a play on the OG XIV Chicago trim.

While a carbon spring plate would be a very welcomed performance addition, in my experience the shoes are totally fine without as they are.

Got a dozen of extensive on court wears so far and I still got absolutely nothing negative to report. They really are my go to shoes right now, still recovering and coming back from a major ankle injury and they inspire total confidence, at least for what I can do so far. Never I've had to worry once about my foot while on court in the 39 except for maybe the 1st wear where I had to get used to the shoes, overcome customary mental obstacles in the process and was a little bit shaky too. For the record: I don't use any ankle brace either.

The shoes are bouncy, mad comfy for long wears, traction is good and zero stability issues.

It's true though that if you test the shoes for lateral stability by just standing in place, you feel like you could roll an ankle, but in action the shoes don't feel that way for some reason. Maybe I can't cut hard enough yet? who knows!

Would I have prefered some kind of flared midsole and outsole like on the React Infinity Run 3 or Invincible 3 with these kinds of foam? yes because the flared bottom itself makes the shoe rather stable laterally, without the need really of a rigid midsole container.

I'd say that under foot the AJ39 feels closer to the Pegasus Plus than the Invincible 3 in overall firmness, a bit firmer and more stable in the forefoot, but closer to the Invincible 3 in compression if you really dig your heel down. I've found that as with any shoe with Zoom X, it takes a little bit of getting used to at first because the feeling is so much different but once you get used to it, it's absolutely magic.

As for the radical price drop at some retailers...I been thinkin': either they really don't move enough units because of the looks and bland colourways or Nike's new head management may have ordered some incentives for some of their retailers in order to build back some bridges maybe?

Changed the white red I have to remove some paint and touch up some spots I need to add some Krylon Matte finisher and I’ll probably throw in some black laces for a contrast. I may grab another pair and do another variation.

Boring Bland
just a couple words used to describe the Chicago cw and yet there is a certain undeniable charm to them and also why i didnt want to go too heavy on customization. May grab another pair to run a more advance take in mind but for now kept things minimal.
Signature rear 39 and plate have been filled. Gold tipped the laces upper hit with satin and something that doesnt come across well on camera but does on hand was the front toe piece and tongue 39 have been touched with pearl and gloss finish.

Wasnt set on it initially yet after a couple wears blacked out the tab.
Say a couple of questions: where did you get the gold lace tips? And do you use paint or markers to color the pull tab?
