I mean, JB did get the retro right. There’s very little to improve on in terms of the Concords (Besides #23 next release). Who knows if the next retro is going to be worse.Love the 11s
Probably will have to reglue the midsole after a while. Air bag could eventually go flat or pop after a long time too. But people are still wearing OG 11s after a reglue so the 2018s could still be wearable well into the future. That would be nice, I would like to eventually give all my shoes that can stand the test of time to my son.
That was exactly the way I was thinking and tbh I dont think they will ever retro again with 45 on the back at least not for a long long timeI mean, JB did get the retro right. I didn’t buy 17 pairs, but I kind of understand it. He won’t have to buy another Concord retro for the rest of his life because the phylon midsole doesn’t crumble, so all these could still be wearable 20 years down the line (I could be wrong, but that’s how I understand it).
I’d be surprised if they ever put 45 on either these or Space Jams again. Maybe in 2045 on the 50th anniversary of the 1995 playoffs, but I’ll be retired from shoes at that point. That was exactly the way I was thinking and tbh I dont think they will ever retro again with 45 on the back at least not for a long long time
Probably will since Concords are my #1. In for any and all releases. You'll come back for them
the version of you in 1995-96 probably doesnt care (we had major glue stains and QC issues but never brought them up) about those little things,. They did the jams, breds and cords as right as possible for JB.
Concords my all-time favorites. I bought four pairs. The only thing to improve is the overall shape, even though the 2018s are really good in that regard. 23 on the heel, OK, for sure. But the shoe overall ... keep getting the shape (especially the toe box) right, and OG-style thickr patent leather. That's literally about all that's left to do LOL
I didn't say the latest retros aren't fantastic, I was just nitpicking what they COULD do better on the next go around, that's all. Still have my OG black/reds sitting here on the shelf, so it's easy to see the differences. The 2016 Jams/PEs are solid, but they have the worst shape of the latest retros (they are oddly narrow in the heel and midfoot). They also don't have the padding inside the upper mesh like the Concords, black/reds, etc. received, which is obviously an OG feature. They can definitely do that shoe better than the 2016 version.the version of you in 1995-96 probably doesnt care (we had major glue stains and QC issues but never brought them up) about those little things,. Authentic.
