The whole CDP line was all about the XI. Thats what we all were looking forward to. They didnt deliver. The 2012 didnt deliver. This release will. Thats all that matters now.

Exactly, that was the only pack I wanted because of that pair. I got it and I was speechless because it was finally my first pair of Playoff 11’s and I was also happy when I got rid of that and got the 2012 pair. Why? Because that was all I knew and I’m sure the rest of us here knew at those two points. If I knew this remastered version and basically the same thing as the OG besides a few details in comparison (I know nothing compares to OG’s, don’t shoot me) then I would have waited until now for a pair and not waste the time or money on the past releases. I never had the OG’s nor the 2001 release, so to finally see this version come out in December is a beautiful thing knowing now what I know about the 11’s and seeing the differences all around. Come December, I’m hoping for an easy cop based on how many pairs are said to be produced. I’d like a few pairs though, but I know shooting for one will already be a challenge.

This really was the only shoe that I held firm on not buying unless it was right. When we finally saw pics of the cdp, I was right away disappointed. Same went with the 2012 release. No interest at all. Having an original, the retros just could not measure up. Its the only shoe I had that attitude with. But knowing what these new ones are gonna look like, I cannot pass these by. Sometimes I would laugh when a few would go on and on about a certain shoe not looking how they want it and passing. Realizing I did the same thing with these over the years.

They will make em right in 2025 when the 23 is stitched on the back and everyone gets what they want. With a super clear outsole. Quote me. lolSo I’m rocking SJs today for the first time in months. It’s my second-favorite colorway after concords. Has been since ‘95. But it’s a bummer they came along before JB got the reshaping etc completely done. They look OK on feet and all, but the lack of upper internal padding and, even more noticeable, the wrongly shaped toe boxes, are REALLY obvious now after wearing 2018 concords. Even my navy snakeskin lows have a shape and toebox that crushes these. Thank goodness the black/reds will have those things correct. In that sense, despite preferring the SJ colorway itself, they will be by far the worst retro of the three. Wish they’d redo them with the latest build specs. I mean, the toes on these are ridiculously off LOL. No real point to this, just an observation

I pulled my pairs to observe. The shape on both looks pretty close to me, from the top anyways. The patent on the Jams does come up a tad high though. I see more of a difference from the side view however: the Concords got that sleek toe look (at least on this pair, it does seem to vary from pair to pair as it’s less pronounced on my other pair), while the Jams got that boxier look. The overall profile of the Cords is beautiful, nearly identical to the og as I remember but to be fair it’s been many many years since I owned the ogs.

AKA the 2016 pair is the Playoff PE version that was only MARKETED as space jam. No “jumpman jam” seals it.

Ya it’s the lack of the sleek, clearly sloped toe box that’s the noticeable difference. They don’t suck or anything, just aren’t as good. When I look at them from the front or from above it’s obvious. Like I said, less of a big complaint and more just an honest observation. Wearing them again today, still dope.

But what's going to sell more to the masses? Playoff PE or "Space Jam".
And thus why they were marketed as such.

shared quite a good laugh when I wouldn't shut up about how bad the BCIVs came out and how I wouldn't touch unless they were rightI don't seem so crazy now knowing what JB is truly capable of when it comes to the grails, do I? Also, this is the other shoe I haven't bought since '96 cause it was never done right.

I know the shape on the 2016’s isn’t exact to the OG but I still like them. Actually I love them.
