The sambas have been doing pretty good. Not so much in the sneakerhead space but with the general population. As long as they can stay on the feet of the general population and garner up some hype here and there then I think they'll do be fine.
"Sneakerheads" online will hate regardless but they'll still move sneakers.

Kanye has always existed at the intersection of Music, Art, fashion, and commerce. He understands all of that and has his entire career. That’s what differentiates him from these other people.

He was influential in “the culture” for 10-15 years before Adidas came knocking. Ye wears Rugbys, people hop on. He wears blazer jackets, people hopped on it. Visvims, G-Shocks, Chelsea boots. Dude had some people wearing confederate flag pieces at one point

No matter how many IG likes Jenna Ortega gets from her Gen Z followers, it still won’t translate to Kanye level influence. Those likes won’t translate to those kids going out camping for $230 shoes

Adidas will never again have what they had with Ye. They need to get over it and stop wasting money signing actors

I really don’t read that Jenna Ortega news as adidas intending her to be a ye replacement. She’s just added to the stable.

What adidas really needs is for just ONE friggin Jerry Lorenzo shoe to actually come out. That would start to move the needle a LITTLE bit. Nowhere near Ye, but it would potentially have a small impact.

I don't think that is the strategy. They are hiring these celebs like Jenna to be brand ambassadors. Samba is already gaining popularity with young girls via tiktok and they'll use her to sustain and keep interest. Girls will see her shoes and think they look cute and then they'll gain some momentum outside of the sneakerhead circle
