Mbps doesn't make that big of a difference, don't waste your time upgrading it.

Ping and luck is a bigger factor.

It's not a competition of downloading a full size movie.

Not much of a help, when testing through websites like speedtest where it merely tests your ping to a specific server running the tests.

Which can only help to check that your connection is working fine.

But when it's about trying to get the shoes, the ping would differ because it is now connected to the specific server the store is hosted on, for example if you try to buy from a European server, your ping would likely be at least 100+ and the locals will be 20-40ms.

The bottleneck of all these is down to the server hosting the website, not the user. It's whether the server is feeding you the data for the web store to allow you to go through the whole check out process or not.
