because Jordans are made off plastic nowadays
I'm with you brotherI'm so washed, it's ridiculous
100% I remember when I was in high school in 2002, Air Force 1s were sooo hyped. Literally every release would sellout and you could only buy them at b&m stores (including mom and pop retailers). Nowadays, there is very little hype on AF 1 releases as they are pretty much ubiquitous as a commoner shoe (like Chuck Taylors, etc.). The same thing happened with SB Dunks and also seems to be happening with GR Jordans now. There will always be limited, hyped releases like OVOs, PSNY's etc. for Jordan Brand but hype for retros, for the most part, seems to be largely dead. My theory is Adidas is seeing this and keeping Yeezys limited to sell shoes like UBs and NMDs as consolation prizes and keep the brand's relevance consistent.
No negativity towards you just saying it'll always end up with 2 camps. Those that think Jordans are dead regardless of sales because GR Jordans are sitting for the first time in years vs People who feel Jordans could never be dead because their overall sales dwarf Yeezy/Adidas.
Are there any difference between these and the original release?
I know for the Pirate Black the added extra padding on the restock version.
I'm trying to figure that out myself. I have the original release but gotta wait for these to come in.
This actually started because someone suggested Jordans that are sitting as a consolation prize for the Yeezy L. I was pointing out that this would be like buying Chuck Taylors or AF 1s as a consolation prize for these Yeezys.
They can and will but sneakerhead logic has some people believing there can only be one brand of shoes reigning supreme at a time.
100%, retro quality has improved nowadays, compared to 2008. Back then, Jordan Brand didn't have to compete with Adidas and Kanye in the sneakerhead/hypebeast market though.their peak was when they had the worst quality
Even Adidas has started dropping the ball on NMDs and UBs. They still aren't producing UBs in a large enough quantity to keep up with demand and the NMD R2 seems to be a failure when they could have allocated those resources to dropping more R1s that the people actually want.100% I remember when I was in high school in 2002, Air Force 1s were sooo hyped. Pickup line at adidas SF is about 50 deep right now smh
So we're these a general release ?
Agreed on the R2. I think they were considering pushing Calabasas as the takedown line for Yeezy Boosts and even leveraging some of Reebok's manufacturing resources to do so.. Given how poor resale was on PPs, I'm not sure if they are still going to go this route or not.

Those who consistently cook should make a tips thread. I need to know what I'm doing wrong! Lol.
