in your order confirmation email, did they add the tax to your total $ amount? first time they didn't for me. 

Check your account order history. Tax is included over there unfortunately lol

Yeah they did. I'm in Palo Alto and I've always had tax shown.

Only thing different this time around is they honored my shoprunner shipping

You should think about calling AMEX and telling them to accept the charge no matter what. Explain that it is a limited product.
