ADIDAS BBall Boost Thread - BYW, Crazy Explosive & Crazy Light & OTHER BBALL ADJACENT SNEAKERS

Not all of them wears that size though, Rubio wears the CE with extra laces and I believe he only wears a size 12. Eric Gordon wears a 13.5.

Still though, how much more would it set them back to add those laceloops and longer laces? You already pay enough for the shoes, why cheap out on that? It's a weird way to cut cost.

I agree very weird. Maybe adidas did four lace loops to be different and unique in terms of looks. Has no purpose in terms of function . Six or more would help any size shoe imo

They'll cut as much cost as much as they can get away with.

I mean there is absolutely no reason for them to put a thinner and flimsier insole on the DRose7 in comparison to the DRos6 but they did.

It wouldn't cost them a few more cents to add a insole on PureBoost but they don't, even the Y3 PureBoost ZG that cost $300+ still doesn't have an insole.

Plus my longer laces idea was more of a joke but I honestly wouldn't be surprised if that played a part in it along with adding an extra eyelet.

All of this makes me think that Harden's versions of his shoes have better traction than the gen pop versions.

nice!

my mind is going blank but whose sig/logo is that?

Nick Young//Swaggy P?

But isn't the point of having no insole in the Pure Boosts because it's a "pure" boost experience and not muddled/disrupted/filtered by an insole? Agree with you on your other points but I think no insoles on Pure Boosts is on purpose, not because of costs.

That seems like complete utter marketing bs to be honest.

Looks at the new Pure Boost Knit that is being advertised as a running shoe now, still no insole and you just can't convince me that no insole for actual running is ideal so that you have the "purest" boost experience. If "PureBoost" is meant to be the "purest" boost experience, then why does the ZG have an insole? Yet the Y3 PureBoost ZG has none? ADO ZG PureBoost, yup it has an insole but it's cheaper and doesn't even have any markings..

And in terms of the Y3, something that is suppose to be more luxurious version, no in-sole and that just feels like they're simply going the cheap route and capitalizing on it's popularity. And what's their excuse for thge NMDs that could cost upwards of $180-$200 retail?

I mean if Adidas is going to feed us some bs marketing, at least be consistent with it.

I love Adidas and love the boost tech even more and have countless pairs from UBs to NMDs, from Qasa Boost to Yohji Run and practically each pair of their latest boost bball shoes but I am just not buying what they are feeding us.These insoles cost these companies a couple of cents and not to mention that Adidas' insole feels the flimsiest and cheapest out there. I have some maybe 4-5 year insole on Crazy8s that are crumbling to dust literally.

And I am not saying this is exclusive to Adidas either, Nike does it a lot too, probably a lot more than the 3stripes.

I agree with a lot of your posts.

The insole thing is similar to Nike's explanation for the Kyrie line and the lack of forefoot cushioning.  A bunch of BS if you ask me.

Something else to keep in mind is that typical consumers don't ask these kinds of questions or care about this level of detail.  How many times have any of you gone in store and asked about a shoe, and you knew more than the employee did?   Even on NT it's a select few that notices and discusses, and the NT population itself is probably a small percentage of the people buying.

The whole heel zoom for the Kobe AD is a perfect example.  We know people out there dissect almost every big release and Nike STILL pulled that move.  For your average consumer, all they care about is that it's the latest Kobe.

oh yeah, all those details are definitely only applies to this forum where we can nitpick every detail and no be seen as crazy :lol

but really, if any boost models could use an insole it's the NMDs, put some .05cent insole in em goddamnit!

Anyone disappointed in the performance of these shoes? I have the white Andrew Wiggins PE's.

I've balled in them for about 10 hours total In doors. Def a comfy boost shoe. Not going lie. But I feel like lock down at the ankle is lackluster. Even if I tie them tight. Then it's just uncomfortable. Also the traction is over rated. Seems like the rubber is already breaking away in certain areas. Durability is an issue. And talk about dust magnets. First outsole where I can see a significant amount of dirt build up/accumulation. When I slap the outsole on a white wall, the traction pattern is clear looking like a stamp.

Anyways Lmk if anyone else thinks this shoe is over rated. My favourite shoes to ball in are the Kobe 3/4/8/9. Maybe not fair to compare the CE to, but no where close to performing like the kobes.

Based on reviews, I have purchased some PK Crazy Explosives. Interested to see how they feel. I have not played basketball is about 6 years now. Last time I played, I had the low top Kobes(I believe the first versions of Kobe's low tops) and absolutely loved them.

Cool. So, I'm thinking if grabbing a pair of the Harden PE Crazy Light Boost 2.5s. I've heard the cushion isn't great, or very soft or any in the forefoot. I don't have any boost shoes. Can anyone tell me how those compare to say Curry shoes or brandblack? I would be using for casual, so I realize I don't Need anything amazing, but is oukd like to be able to use them for a full day and not have any issues or feel like him walking on a board.

I use them to play ball in and they are great. The heel feels boost great, the forefoot is responsive/court feel and it is full primeknit. Brandblack Crossover 3 vs the CLB2.5 i would say the JC3 feels more streamlined and locked in than the CLB2.5. So for casual wear id definitely go with the CLB2.5. Just remember that Hatdem CW can be got for like $50 I heard at tent sales.

Yes . Comfortable for sure. As you said traction is ok but falls apart. I agree Kobe 4-6 still better than these and most shoes out there .

Damn. You think one can complain about the traction durability issue to adidas customer service. I would like to see what they can offer. Non translucent sole CE!!!

Love how consistent Adidas has become with traction and cushioning now they just need to master fit and aesthetics.
