Agreed, that is one really nice facility. There must be some kind of charge for admission, right?
Don't companies test their products there too? I feel like I read on some company's page that they associate with that institution.
2XU which does a lot of compression stuff tests their product with AIS athletes.
For that night, i didnt have to pay an admissions fee coz the groundskeeper was being nice and i was just shooting around. But usually people who run pickup games there would charge like $5 or so for like 2 hours worth of pickup games.
That's where Simmons and Exum went....you ever see them up there?
One of the comps im playing in used to hold the games there. It wasnt uncommon to see Simmons or Exum and any of the basketball players just shooting around or training at the other courts (there's 5 in that training center). It's crazy how the knock on Exum was pre-draft was he had no shooting but when you see these guys doing drills and playing in some of the local comps here, they would hit jumpshot after jumpshot like it's nothing.
Most of the Aussie guys who's playing in the NBA or overseas in college or Europe has probably at one point been an AIS athlete. Bogut, Delly, Mills etc. all went through the AIS.
Patty Mills actually is a Canberra local and we were in the same age group. Dude was really a cut above everyone else and you could see he was destined to make it big.
