Slim Charles should have been in it because he played "the game" better out of anyone the entire series. He's the only street character who lasted from beginning to end, making all the right moves and alliances.

Marlo was that guy. Yes Slim Charles was a great character... and if I had to pick a number 2 it would be him. But Marlo was smart, ruthless, and played the game the best it could be played... AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL. It is easier for a soldier like Slim Charles to adapt and survive, but there has to be something said about how Marlo forced his way to the top, and how he held it down when he got there.
