I've been hitting the gym a lot recently; my only goal is just to tone up a bit, nothing too serious. I have a question though, is it true that its notgood to go everyday? I usually go every other day but for the last three days I've been going every morning since I've had time to do so and its such agood feeling afterwards. Also, for those of you who know, is there anything I shouldn't be eating if I'm trying to gain some muscles? Thanks inadvance.

well your body needs to rest to grow, if you work out everyday, its not gonna rest. you should work out 3-4 times a week.

Everyday is ok as long as you're working out different muscle groups on each day. Also, if you want the shredded look you'll want to do a ton ofcardio. I run twice a day and lift each day.

Yup, I go 5 days a week usually take saturday and sunday off. Just make sure if you do work the same muscles in the same week that your give at least 3 or4 days to rest, like if you do chest monday wait til at least thursday or friday to do it again.
I don't know about things you shouldn't be eating, but obliviously fats are bad, and too much sugar from soda and things like that are bad.

After working out make sure to get a good amount of protein and carbs within a hour after you finish.

^^^^I go 5 days a week too.
Its ok as long as you split body parts.

An easy routine to follow is:
Monday-Chest/Triceps
Tuesday-Back/Biceps
Wednesday- Legs
Thursday-Chest/Triceps
Friday-Back/Biceps
Sat-Some kind of cardio
Sunday-off

Follow these routines with at least 20 min of cardio if you want to lean down.

co-sign^^

The main thing you have to watch out for is your diet. You cant show off your muscles if you have a thick layer of fat over them. And another thing to watchout for is muscle plateauing... so you should change up the type of workouts you do every 3-4 weeks.

Like many have said, working out on consecutive days is fine as long as you switch up muscle groups or switch cardio days with lifting. A good way to tone isinterval running. Switching speeds from jog to run every 30 sec or minute. There are different interval routines you can look up. Also, diet plays a big roleon getting tone. Good luck.

i go to the gym everyday and do cardio for about half and hour. i drink a protein shake right before and right after. i been at it for 2 months with a goodbball game 3 to 4 times a week and i can tell im toning up. i got a long ways to go tho.
also drink lots and lots of water. when you dehydrate your body retains a lot of water.
