I can't.
Multiplying both sides by x first is the correct step. In no way, shape or form is the x a part of the parentheses. WHAT IS SO HARD TO UNDERSTAND? If it was the problem would look like this: 48/(x(9+3))
Since it does not, we can make the correct assumption that the 48 is dividing into the x and then multiplying by (9+3)
From there we, gee, multiply both sides by x and solve the problem.
