3rd Annual SB Secret Santa/Exchange/GIF 2016 Thread (SOON TO BE 4TH ANNUAL)

definitely in for the sticker, gonna definitely go on the box to the paparazzi's i acquired through here. This worked out super well this year. After reading back i think the two pool idea for next year is brilliant. It shows who is reliable enough to participate going forward instead of having the people who did it this year get burned next year. God forbid anyone gets burned next year. 

The problem with the pool idea is that people getting burned is no good, whether you're a noob or not. Getting someone who doesn't frequent the thread will not (or shouldn't) deter people from trying to get a gift without giving anything. Sure you'd be more stoked if you got @mints  and you were trying to burn, but at the end of the day I don't think it will make a difference. In my eyes, it's no better that someone new gets burned than a seasoned vet. In fact, it might even be worse because it could turn that person off of SB's on a whole, and that hurts the community worse than me getting burned and just chalking it up to a loss and moving on. So I don't know, I like all the input, but I think this may stay a "mostly regulars" thing.

Interest will grow. But everyone should be aware that we are 100% in control of this exchange and the direction it takes. We are in no way obligated to let people in that we don't think will add to the exchange. The reason we did it this year was to get homies together and give some great stuff to each other. I don't know why anyone believes that we need to let in more people or new people next year. Sure we COULD, but we don't HAVE TO. All I'm saying is if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Sure, more people could be added next year, but they are most likely to be regulars that just didn't participate this year (@Sipy  as a perfect example).

Yep, this should be repeated often next year.

I'm not even talking about making it exclusive but more so NOT making it open to all. That doesn't mean it can't be open to new people. Like some of the newbies in here already said, I didn't have to let them participate but I did. Same goes for next year, whoever runs it can decide who does and doesn't get in with the best interest of the group in mind. There's no reason this needs to get blown out like the NT SS.

. These are my opinions also. If people aren't contributing to the thread in one way or another they shouldn't be in. It's not even about being on NT for 6 years or for 6 months.

I didn't make any set requirements for this exchange. I basically said to myself "if I recognize their name in any way, I'll let them join." It seemed to work out pretty well. We know who contributes and who doesn't, and that's all that really matters. This exchange was more about celebrating our community and rewarding those who make it what it is than it was ever about making an SB Exchange for the hell of it.

have not tried Dragons Milk but Im a huge Victory fan, and Golden Monkey likewise is solid. 

Their hop devil is a top 10 beer for me.
