Every season this boy puts in work, and it shows. Whatever his offensive ceiling is, I don't think anyone honestly knows as I'm sure no one could have predicted his last season's production. With that said, he hasn't been given much motivation defensively with his head coach being who he is and playing out of position for practically his entire career so far. Am I making excuses? You gotdamn right I am.

I'm still a firm believer that Lee should be a Knick for life, and hope Walsh doesn't really throw him aside this summer. I'm glad Lee understands that he isn't a superstar (yet, according to him), so he's saying the right things, playing the waiting game like everyone else.
its #$%* like this which is the reason itd just kill me to see Lee outta here. Hes like our son man, the way his game and overall character has grown into a top guy since being a nobody when we drafted him, in a draft class that had him over-shadowed by Channing Frye who was clearly the more skilled and probably the one with more potential also, given his size and soft touch (emphasis on SOFT
tongue.gif
), than Frye exploded as a rookie and was even considered our next franchise player bigman by most Knicks fans. He was also overshadowed by Nate who wowed NY with his athletisism, antics, and his heart right off the back. DLee was just that "other guy" in that '05 draft class but he just kept working and was conssitently out playing Frye by his sophomore year. Than we get rid of Frye only to trade for Zach Randolph and Isiah is set on Eddy Curry as our franchise player and him and Zach were supposed to make this deadly combo, when it was David Lee who was putting in more work than both of them combined off the bench. He ahs consistently been working and working and after last year when he broke out and what we thought was reached his full potential because of + minutes and cause he works well in D'Antoni's system, he adds more to his repitore, including a better J, and the ability to be a point forwards in addition to everything else and is an all-star this season, even while playing center. D-Lee has consistently overcome odds here and is the lone survivor from all these dudes from the Isiah era, and its for a reason. And as he said, as much as i or any of yall other Knicks fans can think he has reached his peak and has overperfromed this season and #$%*, he has given me NO reason thus far in his career to have me doubt the fact that he is not done growing, if we move him to PF next year and get a couple of guys around him to a point where we can be a winning team, i see no reason as to why he wouldnt become a better defender and one of the top PFs in the league. Yall can have your own opinions, but personally i am a very strong believer that it would be a big mistake to let David Lee go elsewhere this summer.

btw the more i think about it, the more i want eric bledsoe on this team....
QFT dude is just a freshman and has GREAT athletisism and suprised me this year with his court vision and jump shot. imo dude is like a mini Russel Westbrook, and if yall remember Westbrook was a backup at UCLA in his freshman year to DC, and didnt really show his full potential until he was in the NBA. Russel is bigger and better defensively than Bledsoe is, but imo they are both pretty similar, and Bledsoe has a better J than Russel had in college, and Russel didnt really show his true abilities to run the point until he got to OKC, i remember alot of people were questioning about that about his game when he was in the draft. I think Bledsoe would be an absolute steal if he fell to us, considering he very well may be the 2nd best PG in the draft, but imo even if he didnt fall to us, and is still available with these late 1st round picks, id try and buy a pick similar to what we did last season and scoop him with a late 1st rounder. Dude would be way to good of a fit here, to let fall through our fingers if we can get him that easilly. IMO dude would have potential to start here as a freshman

you guys say david lee has been saying the right things but i've never heard the word "defense" come out of his mouth once.

we have bigger fish to fry.

RT @Hoopdata: David Lee had more halfcourt isolations/post-up possessions this year than Boozer (415 vs 377). Higher PPP too (0.85 vs 0.83).
[/h1]
RT @Hoopdata: I don't know if I'm ready to say Lee is a better go-to scorer than Boozer, but they aren't lightyears apart.
Wow. RT @Hoopdata: Boozer's problems on D r not trying to make rotations. Lee can [improve] w/coaching. IMO, Lee a tier above Boozer in FA.

Chris Bosh seems to be using his Twitter account to make a statement that he might have played his last game as a Raptor.

Bosh changed his location from Toronto to "Everywhere" and deleted a section that mentioned his status as Raptors' captain.

Bosh had earlier asked fans via Twitter to let him know where he should sign this off-season.

Sergio Rodriguez feels the Knicks are his number one option heading into free agency.

Lee says his goal is to improve his ball handling and revealed that he thinks he can become a 3-point threat. But he also admitted that he must improve his most glaring weakness: defense.

"First and foremost I have to get better defensively," he said.

I mean Lee has been saying ALOT of %%%! on what he wants to improve this summer, but he knowsthat defense is the only area that he really HAS to improve a whole lot and defense is #1 and the #1 reason he is not at that "Top 10 level" yet. %%%! like improving his ball handling even more and getting 3 point range on his shot, is just extra %%%! he will be working on, but not to the extent of defense. He knows defense is #1 this sumemr,  and you know David Lee is gonna be AT WORK defensively this summer, just like he has always been at work when he needed to improve an area of his game. In addition to him going back to the 4 there is NO DOUBT in my mind that my man will be more than significantly better on that side of the court next season.

and i agree with the Boozer comparisons. I think Lee has a far more complete offensive game right now and his defense will get better. I agree that Boozer is a better go to scorer right now, but Lee is improving, and hes getting his J down, he is also a superior ball handler and has great touch around the basket. I dont necessarily agree that Lee > Boozer in free agency. But as far as our team is concerned the only PF i think i would out ahead of Lee for us is Bosh. If we lost Lee this summer, only to give Carlos $#*@%%@ Boozer that long term contract instead of Lee i will be

at Donnie.

Lee is true Knick.. it's that simple.. he's due for his big* contract.. somebody in the league is going to be willing to overpay him, and why shouldn't he take that money.. I hate to see him leave though.. been my fav Knick for the last 3years.

I'm amazed ya'll are so high on David. Last summer everyone in here was willing to let him walk with no problems

Bledsoe doesn't have to sneak, he's going in the first round. Weak draft. I can't wait to see what team gives Lee $10 - $12 million this offseason.

i take it back. it took 4 years for david lee to consider learning how to play defense. he's thinking about 3's not D

laugh.gif
yo i like david. but i don't have the connection to him that yall do. he's a 3rd or 4th option that we just can't afford to give an absurd contract

we helped him. he helped us at times but keeping us relevant.

it's time to split up. we are working on a chip. he is working on that money that he earned and is deserved.

Championship teams need players like Lee....

Why do some of ya think 1 Superstar will come here without anyone to play with?

They can just go to MIA along with Wade & Beas, or CHI with Rose-Deng-Gibson-Hinrich

who thinks that? would you rather have lebron and bosh or lebron and lee? that's what the argument is even if nobody comes out and says it.

you think a star is coming here to play with david lee?

and the only person who matters in miami is wade. beasly is a joke. probaly won't be there next year.

miami has me nervous because you can go play there and the media is weak. it isn't a sports town. they can't sell out even with having a top 3 ball player in wade. so if someone wants to live in a cool city without the press and fans who actually care, yes miami would be a good choice.

if bosh is as vagina as people say then yes he'll end up in miami. in nyc and chicago media and fans may be too much for him. but all i hear recently is bosh wants more attention. where else can he become a household name as fast as nyc?

I prefer Lee over Boozer and maybe even Amare.. Who Lee is already doing better than out of position and without a great PG like Nash

Lee
PPG20.2
RPG11.7
APG3.6
SPG1.0
BPG0.5
FG%0.545
FT%0.812
3P%0.000
MPG37.3
Amare
PPG21.1
RPG7.1
APG1.3
SPG0.2
BPG1.4
FG%0.521
FT%0.783
3P%0.000
MPG35.9

There isn't one thing Amare is doing better than Lee but 1.1 more PPG & .9 more blocks... which isn't much
Just cause dudes have crazy highlighted dunks don't really make em that much better

Bosh
PPG24.0
RPG10.8
APG2.4
SPG0.6
BPG1.0
FG%0.518
FT%0.797
3P%0.364
MPG36.1

Some people would argue that Amare is playing out of position at the 5...

But I agree with Tommy. I think we should all just chill out and let this die down a bit before the hectic times begin.

Chicago where he'll be in the conference finals within two years.

No one is willingly to let Lee walk, but for that price he was asking (10mil.) it was just too much.

and reading this thread makes me depressed as hell.

Lee > Boozer (in every aspect on and off the court). Matter fact if Lee was on the Jazz he would probably have better stats than what he has now. He deserves to get paid, do i want us to overpay him? No. But there is no doubt in my mind he will go after the $$ unless we sign bron.

Btw those stats that u posted are amare's postseason stats. his averages are way better during the season. If it were up to me and i had to choose who to have on my team as a PF next year....

Amare > Bosh > Lee > Boozer
