2026 Track and Field Thread

That German girl running anchor might've caught her if there were more meters :lol, she ran the fastest leg of the race

Most amazing leg I have seen since Bolt was running, that's an insane split for a chick, **** for anyone

Maybe it's just me but worlds seemed different this year, more exciting.

Nastiest relay leg for me since Yohan Blake when they smashed the record for what'll probably be forever :lol

Don't think that man has ever ran faster than Blake in London and Bolt in Berlin before or since

IATT IATT pretty interesting to think about here

If ncaa doesn’t stop it, could be interesting as hell for track and swimmers

But you got a ton of them training at schools already anyways

Like on the swimming side Bob bowman got Marchand summer mcintosh both in his pro group at texas and both with years of eligibility still there.. I know Marchand has at least a year of eligibility left maybe 2.. summer has all 4.. he also has regan smith in that pro group and she went pro early too

This is also interesting given what is happening with NIL.. and then what is happening with “pros” potential being eligible

She definitely did a year, can’t remember if she did 2

But she was not a fan of the coach who is now something with team USA .. but alot of big name women have left that standford program (inclusive of ledecky).. but it’s the cal women that fell off super hard and had some serious accusations against the coaches on the women’s side if I’m remembering correctly but you had some swimmers who regressed once joining that program but that’s always an issue with women because of the changes their bodies go through as they get older and the impact it has on their body positioning in the water (hips developing causes hips to sink throwing off body positioning for all strokes)

After looking it up, she did a year.. and then went pro and joined bowman at ASU and now at texas with him

So Cal no longer getting the Natalie Coughlin and Nathan Adrian types lately?

They get a ton of backstrokers.. Ryan Murphy went there and trains there

Another high school national record holder in backstroke from bolles also went there, Alex lim

Jack alexy is their biggest current name and then Destin lasco (not sure if he graduated or not)

The men’s team is always very solid like competing for national championship solid.. usually top 3.. like they came 2nd to texas last year and then 2nd to the stacked Leon Marchand Arizona state team the year before and won the year before that

Can always count on them and texas to have solid teams.. then you got probably Florida.. maybe Indiana depending on the year.. Arizona state or nc state depending on the years

But the women’s team ain’t what it was the coach had a bad rep
