2026 MLB Season Thread

It just seems like analytics get in the way of teams valuing Arraez. Every lineup should love a bat like his...defensively a liability, I get it, but a perennial batting champ contender? Yes, please. Missed him in 'Sota the last few years.

I would be happy to trade him back to you. Blame analytics all you want, but a soft hitting high average player who is below average or bad at virtually every other aspect of the game is not a player that is conducive to winning. There is a reason he has been on 4 teams in 4 years.

His mom's Dominican, had no idea

Regarding Arraez, I think the comparisons to Gwynn are so lazy. Aside from Gwynn having higher OPS than Arraez consistently, he was also a WAY better baserunner than Arraez the first decade of his career.

they're ready to completely burn the bridge with Skubal in arbitration and trade him during the season 8o

Tigers are a completely despicable franchise. The nerve to penny-pinch the best pitcher in the game today, but pay all that for an ******* who crossed his own catcher? FOH

Some of these organizations lack the basic soft skills when it comes to stuff like this. Even if you have no intent on keeping him beyond this season, why damage your relationship with one of the best pitchers in the game over some petty trivial stuff like this.

In a league where players talk and some organizations have a reputation for all the right reasons while others have a reputation for all the wrong reasons. Players see stuff like this and I’m sure lowballing an elite talent like Skubal doesn’t help the Tigers cause. That’s the type of goofy behavior that’s ruining baseball.
