It's easy to sign post prime/no more peaked free agents like Scherizer and Verlander. It's hard to sign young/peaked stars in the free agency market

The MLB forced owner Steve Cohen to keep Alderson for a while when Cohen became an owner of the Mets. The Cohen era started five years ago
Cohen's first GM got in trouble over sexual harassments during his time with the Cubs
When the Mets made big splash moves in the free agency market, the league added new luxury tax rules; the Steve Cohen tax
Seasons under Cohen went up and down. The hitting program hasn't been great. I think it will get better this time. Bless Soto for willing to join
I am not mad. The Mets look much better in the direction now than before. Cohen fixed Mets longtime bad revenues. The farm system got much stronger. The departments improved greatly. The Willets Point development project has already started. Construction for the Metropolitan Park project will begin this month

NYC is not a desirable location. Weather sucks, taxes, crowded city. Add to that the Mets haven’t won a title in almost 40 years and aren’t consistently good. LA has the weather, money and recent titles. The only thing the Mets can offer is a lot of money.

Phillies dont do high AAV/Short term contracts and never had nor do they do opt-outs
Phils offered 7/200M to Bo
BP got better, Starting Rotation got worse and batting lu got worse
Trust us fans arent happy but they also weren't going to pay 60M AAV or 45M AAV . So no need to get mad at that
Noone wants Bohm or Casty the bums so it is what it is
Maybe they look at Belli and move Marsh but i dont like belli, maybe they look at Eugenio Suarez for 3rd
Phils fan arent happy but they are trying at end of the day last 2 years
