Otherwise, what a weird trade.
Semien got a gold glove, but if you look at Acuna and McNeil's measurables just as fielders, pretty damn similiar at defense. And sure Semien would have better counting stats if he played all 162.. The slash line between all Mets 2B and Semien is the same.

More I’m sitting with it. I don’t get it at all.
Soto, Lindor, Semien is ~$119mil in luxury tax.
I just don’t see them going to put $30mil into Bellinger or $40mil into Tucker in response, and then even entertain Alonso.
So unless there’s a trade where they can send out McNeil as a salary dump and piece together money, it’s rough.
