2026 MLB Season Thread

Vogt was probably due to his team being out of the playoffs basically to going on a pretty good run to take the division.
It was a good turnaround but the Tigers nasty choking down the stretch did a lot of the heavy lifting for them, the Guardians run wouldn't have even mattered had they not imploded.

Schneider took essentially the same roster from last to first in the AL East and the best record in the league with a 20 win improvement when absolutely nobody expected much from them before this past season.

Wilson also helped clinch their first division title in 24 years. Just think those were better options this year especially when the other one already won it last year without doing anything that much different this year besides winning less games.

got an email from the Padres this morning that the Seidlers are considering selling the team. interesting...had no idea they were thinking about that

I respect them for that because I feel like team owners that cry about losing money should just sell. The ones that won't are snitching on themselves because who actually hangs on to something truly draining money? Does this mean Tatis and/or Machado are available???

It's interesting because this morning on the local SD news they said any reports on trading Tatis were 100% false and they planned on staying in the top 10 for spending for the foreseeable future.

Maybe not...

Seidler family other than Peter are scumbags and don't want any part of the Padres so this was something I expected but not this soon. My wife used to work for the franchise and the only one in that family that cared about the team was Peter. Once he passed it was a matter of time before the family looked into selling and look where we are now.
