2026 MLB Season Thread

in last nights game?

1. small sample size. the fact that he hit two hrs doesn't necessarily mean he's gunna hit a 3rd.
2. the game was tied. im not putting the winning run on base.
3. he's fast, he could steal or score from first on a double and end the game.
No one's saying he'd hit a third but he was clearly hot at the plate while other batters in the order were not. He gave you lead, helped bring you back, and tied the game up. He was the major force in that lineup last night. Those are the risks you take and not allow one person to beat you.

Based on the last game of the previous series he’s shown he’s capable of hitting 3 hr a game. I’d take my chances and spread out the responsibility of getting him out rather than putting all the pressure on the pitcher.

There is no correct answer when dealing with someone that unpredictable.

He just had one of the greatest games I've ever watched in my life.

The guy hits 3 home runs, follows up with 2 home runs and 2 doubles, yea, let's keep pitching to him, he's not Bonds. :lol

You right, he's better. With less steroids.

And more innings pitched. :lol

And a World Series title already.
exactly

Silly to say keep pitching to him:lol:

Bonds had 9 postseason home runs in his whole career.

Shohei has 8 this postseason.

Walk that ************ if you want to win this series.

He shouldn't see a pitch until Spring Training 2026.

Madison Bumgarner has the best ERA in World Series history by a country mile, that doesn’t make him a better pitcher than Sandy Koufax or Greg Maddux.

Understood. But Ohtani is, currently, the best player in baseball. He's currently showing it and pretty much single handedly kept the Dodgers in that game last night. At this point in the postseason he's not someone you chance trying to get out at the plate in a close game.

You seem to find Ohtani as some singular 2 week hot streak? He's goin on 2 full years of this, and in the last week has done things the entire 120+ year history of the sport has never seen.

By all means, keep throwin him fastballs down the middle. Maybe it'll only go 430 feet this time. :lol

7 innings, they pitched to him 4 times. They scored 5 runs, and he had 4 extra base hits.

The next 11 innings, they walked him 5 times, and the Dodgers didn't score until the walkoff home run.

Coincidence? :lol

I’m not sure how you came to that conclusion about my opinion of Ohtani.

All I said was he isn’t better than Bonds, because he isn’t.

I don't blame the blue jays for their approach toward ohtani when betts isn't making them pay immediately after. obviosuly ohtani is the leadoff hitter, but in his later at bats there's a high chance the bases are going to be empty because pages is an automatic out right now.
