2026 MLB Season Thread

Skubal was admittedly gassed last start at what?...97 pitches? And he was all gas tonight w/ 99 pitches so it makes sense.

Cant believe im the contrarian on this tonight, but gotta know the personnel.

the most pitches he's ever thrown in a game was 108. if he was openly telling Hinch that he doesn't have it anymore or that he's feeling shaky, then that's one thing. but he had it going tonight and looked locked in to where he was getting better deeper into the game. at the very least you gotta bring him back out in that scenario for the 7th, even if it's on a short leash.

seattle worked his pitch count early, but he got through the 5th and 6th with only 14 pitches in each of those innings. he threw less pitches in those innings than anything he did in the first 4 innings, he didn't look gassed after the 6th in this start either to where you gotta look at tonights situation as completely different than his prior start. if it was the other way around and he was throwing more pitches in the later innings than he was in the early innings, then maybe I would look at it differently

i'm riding my ace with the lead in that situation with the bullpen ready if needed.

108, but not nearly the same stress. He was throwing 101 in the 6th....broadcasters alluded to it...I get it, but he looked pretty happy once he was pulled. Thats not typical of guy saying he wants more, but gets pulled..

Lead off double and cant bring him home :{

M’s lucky the Tigers offense have been so bad this game :lol

Bad bad baseball. You HAVE to move that runner over. Wilson should know better...

Not only that, bunting changes the eye level and JP would've walked, which changes everything...cmon...

I hear you, he didn't look visually animated like some guys would in that situation. even with that though, i'm riding with him, even if it's on a razor thin tight leash. a july game against the white sox, i'll pull him even if it potentially costs me the game. hell I would even consider it in game 2 of this series with a 1-0 lead. but in an elimination game, i'm getting more risky if the reward is worth it.

it's all low key a moot point though, the tigers bullpen has held it down, and the mariners have squandered some legit chances.

Bro...first passed ball all season is like Gary Anderson missing in the NFCCG after not missing a FG all season...I can't watch now...
