Been lots of analysts saying Hal is being aggressive with this one.Chapman signing with the Sox is gonna be a pain in the *** all yr.
I got an attorney at my job who's pretty connected who told me it's between the Yanks and Muts only for Soto and the Muts have a very strong upper hand. He said the Yanks ain't willing to go crazy throwing money at him but the Muts are. I got depressed right away cause this attorney has had Cohen there at my job so if he knows something usually thats the deal. If the Yanks lose em it's gonna sting like all hell, especially where he's going. Just hope there's a good enuff backup plan.
There's still hope![]()
What are your thoughts on the most recent WS winner?Looks like I'm a free agent this year. Idk if I'll sign a one year deal with a team or just root for Mookie, Bogaerts, and Sale.
How so? I come in peace. I come in peace. The Mets have a more interesting future than the Yankees.
It’s like a rule they may want to put in place to allow the team to insert their best hitter at any point in an inning. Negating the the batting order at some point in an inning. It’s dumb. What the hell is Golden at bat????
Yankees roster feels old and has too many holes that can’t be addressed as easily if they sign Soto. Mets have more money available and a good young core with prospects they can trade. Yankees get the edge on rotation though. How so? I come in peace. I come in peace.

Current average age of the Mets roster is 28.9 which is the oldest in the league. Yankees is 27.8, which is 25th. It’s really not that different. Not sure of the holes though either. Yankees have Dominguez ready to replace Verdugo and Durbin they’re saying is ready to replace Torres.Yankees roster feels old and has too many holes that can’t be addressed as easily if they sign Soto. Dominguez should be a stud but 1b and 2B are still question marks plus pitching behind Cole and Gile (just like the Mets). Vientos is the real deal but idk if he’ll be at first, third or DH. They need to figure out if Pete comes back or how they replace 40 HRs. I’m not worried about Nimmo yet and if we get Soto, Marte can DH and hopefully stay healthier. Question marks are even between the two teams but Cohen is more likely to keep spending where Hal seems likely to settle after Soto if he gets it done.Current average age of the Mets roster is 28.9 which is the oldest in the league. I think you have as many questions though if we’re being honest. Y’all for sure need another SP, maybe 2, even after you signed Montas. (Holmes as a SP, I’d want no part of). Is Vientos your starting 3B, can he repeat those numbers, or is Baty competing for it and the answer? Will Marte play more than 120 games in a season for yall yet? Last two seasons he hasn’t even played 100. Nimmo just a bad season or signs to worry? He’s owed 20 mil/yr until 2031. McNeil down year or reason to worry as well?
The Yankees aren’t exactly short on money, and one of the things Soto has asked/stated in his meetings, is that whatever team signs him, can’t just stop at him. They have to be able to continue to build the roster around him and there’s 5 teams that have thrown him $550-600 mil contracts. So there’s plenty of money outside of the Mets - see the Dodgers.
