2026 MLB Season Thread

i legit had some shorts take 6 weeks. non special event and in stock (supposedly). and then a similar hoodie in the same order took two weeks. i don't have shop runner though so maybe that's part of it

I thought Fanatics was like a direct partner of these leagues. 👀

Can’t believe it but I miss Majestic. MLB was the only league they had and they focused on them. Always had new gear ready in January before Spring Training, made all of the on-field gear available to purchase and actually stitched name and numbers on replica jerseys. For whatever reason (could just be in my head) there was always more quality options before Nike and Fanatics took over. The only thing they do a good job with is keeping up with Mitchell & Ness options for the teams with licensing deals with them.

Haven’t seen a true baseball fleece since Nike took over :smh:

Yeah, it was some company named OT Sports that made the jersey. I’d cop the authentic Mizuno one, but it’s been sold out for a minute. With exception of USA baseball’s stuff, everything seems behind with WBC products.

The tourney itself seems like an afterthought, MLB still sucks at hyping it up after all these years. A damn shame.
They've talked about it in every pre-season game I've watched. It's also all over MLB TV. I think the fault is with tv deals and whatever network is airing it not promoting it well. Should be promoted like the WS.

Majestic made great replicas. Stitched names and logos and their jerseys actually have weight to them. Nike stuff is printed on, Light materials (cutting costs) and slim.

My theory with WBC is it took the US until the 4th WBC to actually win it, so a lot of traditional American baseball folks devalued it to not seem inferior. MFs got waxed by Japan, DR, and other folks so they treat it like second class.

MLB owners are some of the greediest, so we likely won’t ever get the best version of WBC, unless they follow the World Cup format and allow players to leave mid season. Seeing the resistance during the most recent Olympics, I know we’re a long way from that.

You can’t expect max participation when it’s done before the season even starts. Best bet would be to skip the all star game, take 2 weeks and play the wbc (in America) and not force mlb guys to fly to other countries to play.

But on the flip side, if you’re an owner, and you’re paying Justin verlander and max scherzer $43 million each this year, do you really want them to participate?

Cristiano and Messi making more than Verlander, yet their clubs let them go. When the sport is valued beyond the domestic league it'll happen. With MLB, I'm not sure that's possible any time soon but I have no doubt other nations would. Not because their players don't make as much, but because it's national pride at stake. Then again in American I'm not sure our pride is where/what it used to be.

I think having it right after the season ends would be dope, just host it in Hawaii or anywhere else with great weather in late fall/early winter.

Soccer is also 10x a more popular sport worldwide I feel

There is no American pride. So guys are like ehhh whatever. Guys from other countries feel the pride that they “made it” and want to show their home colors. ****, machado just signed his fat *** deal and he’s playing. Soto is in a contract year and he’s playing.

USA’s lineup is stacked. They managed to get the biggest stars to play. The pitchers are a different story…what is a guy like Brady Singer going to do against the Dominican lineup?

Soccer is just dudes joggin around for 90 minutes.
Baseball requires actual stress on pitchers arms, so you can't make the same comparison. Pitchers only have so many throws per season, no team wants to waste them on a national pride exhibition.

To recap, Soccer sucks.

There we go

Other countries top pitchers are game but American pitchers think they're too good for it, we know

Yiiiiiikes.

If it was just dudes jogging around, it would be called... Jogging.

That is pure, uncut, unfiltered American horse**** right there, my friend.
