Merry Chistmas to all :smokin

even Met fans :smh:

I think at this point, the Mets will make a deal with Correa. But not the long term deal that he was expecting to receive.

I'm sorry, Farhan lol.

Twins fans just watching this unfold, biting our nails.

I'd take him back in a heartbeat, but I don't know what Minny is sitting on, whether they know something or not, or if it's just that they won't spend like that.

His production was subpar (at his caliber), but his leadership is A1. It's interesting, to say the least.

They offered him 10 yr 285 mil this offseason. It’s something they have to be comfortable with considering they’re pretty familiar with him.

Report: Correa not interested in restructuring Mets agreement

GT_VOD_12262022.jpg

he Carlos Correa situation continues to get weirder and weirder with every passing day. T

After a medical concern reportedly derailed his contract agreement with the Giants, Correa reportedly agreed to a 12-year, $315 million contract with the New York Mets, only for New York to reportedly have the same medical concernas San Francisco.

Although there reportedly is optimism that Correa and the Mets can overcome the latest snag, the New York Post's Jon Heyman reported Monday evening that Correa is not open to the idea of restructuring his reported agreement with the Mets, which could derail the agreement if New York wishes to re-negotiate.

One source told Heyman that the likelihood of Correa and the Mets finding common ground and working out a deal is at 55 percent, a rather uninspiring number for Mets fans.

Heyman also reported that three additional teams have been in contact with Correa's camp after the Mets reportedly raised concerns over his medical history.

It remains to be seen if the Giants are one of the three teams that have reached out, or would be interested at all in re-negotiating with Correa after their reported agreement fell apart.

However the situation plays out, all parties involved will be eager for this saga to finally end.

"Heyman also reported that three additional teams have been in contact with Correa's camp after the Mets reportedly raised concerns over his medical history."

Name them, Heyman. 🤣 So the Giants brought him to their house, had a physical and said 'Naaaaah'... then the Mets brought him to THEIR house, had a physical and said 'Wayminit', then 3 OTHER teams went 'We're good. Let's do this'? They GOTTA be thinking that they're going to land him HEAVILY discounted now.

Well I mean the twins were comfortable offering him 10yr 285 mil and they’re pretty familiar with him. I’m sure there are some.

Correa was cool with giving up 35M within like 2 hours of the report.

Would he be cool with giving up another 30M?

That brings him back to the Twins offer

Not sure what's going on now

Saw an unreliable source that the Mets and Correa made an agreement. They are waiting for Boras to deal with MLB and MLBPA

I figure that it's about adding an insurance/specific injury clause in the contract

Similar to the Red Sox and JD Martinez. The team added medical protection in the contract. Note the agent is Scott Boras tho

I don't want to believe the Giants are still in talks with him. At this point, just fill out the roster and see which one of their top prospects can come in and contribute right away.

Save that money for Ohtani lol.
