2026 MLB Season Thread

Might as well trade one to supplement the team then IMO...

The million dollar question is do you trade the heart of the franchise multiple time MVP or the two way star sensation unanimous MVP? The answer is pretty obvious for sure but it would be real tough to sell trading Trout for the fans. It would be different if he was playing really bad (0-24 slump aside) or was a clubhouse cancer or an upcoming UFA.

But man that haul would be crazy. Maybe it’s best for both sides give that man some mercy and a chance to win a WS lol.

Would the Angels also have to eat some money on a Trout trade to get back the kind of return they’d want.

Nah, I think it would be the contrary where they can convince a team to swallow another contract to get Trout. Anyways, it'll be juicy as long as they remain outside the postseason spots. Would love to see both those guys in October fr though.

I know reddit and twitter is a small fraction of the fanbase, but i think like 51% of the fanbase is okay with trading them, including myself. This was a make or break season for me but the usual injuries and poor pitching reared it’s ugly head. Trout probably has 5 elite years max left. Ohtani’s workload is a concern going forward. This is about as high as you can sell on each of them. If we’re gonna suck, at least give us some hope in the form of a great faem system :lol

Been looking at trout to the dodgers for:

Lux
Trae
Urias
Buehler
Cartaya
Miller

Ehh value is prob there but can’t gut half a team’s starters/rotation especially if there’s a competent outfield in place.

But it's also true that a team trading for a megastar would effectively be gutting it's major league talent. You'd have to find a team that is 2-3 years away with prospects ready to go soon. The Rays...?

now you got me thinking, what do y'all think the timeframe for Ohtani is? He's 27 now and pretty much in his prime/near the top of his prime, you gotta contend ASAP too no?

Not trying to give the Angels fans anymore hope…..

But you’d assume (by the law of averages) that they’d start hitting together, eventually, right?
