Hitless again today, I had no idea the Angels lost 10 straight. Shohei needs help.

Took 3 out of 4 from the NL Central 1st place Brewers and beat last year's NL CY Young award winner. Really should have been a 4 game sweep but game 1 had the blown save.

Was going to say how they need to just throw a bag at free agent arms after this season, but unless deGrom opts out or they grab Manea not sure what other high level arms are out there. Whatever it is, grab as many 2nd-3rd rotation SP's as you can. Perry Minasian is supposed to be pretty damn savvy, but ownership needs to let him spend, especially when like $70M comes off the books after this season. I can care less about Anaheim, but I just want to see Trout and Ohtani in the postseason.

It’s a little weird. The first 20+ games, the angels pitchers were balling. Like top 5 in the majors I believe. The last 20+, they’ve been the worst in the majors.

All have like 7+ era the last half of the games. They were all at around 1 the first half
Two extremes. They’re clearly not the best, but also jot the worst. My guess is they’ll finish middle of the pack. The offense is more worrisome imo. With Rendon, Fletcher, and Ward out, we’re trotting out guys that have no business starting. Perfect storm. Im wondering how long this streak can go. Looking st the schedule, 21 is very possible.

I think it’s the way they develop pitching. With teams like the cardinals and dodgers. They have some set way in how they draft and develop their pitchers. Also with who they sign and how they work with them. Just seems like the angels just roll the dice really. I know they had some bad luck with a few guys passing away but besides those guys they don’t have anyone in the minors coming up throughout the past few years.

I think the difference is the Dodgers have an unparalleled system right now. They have a gang of homegrown talent that come in and produce right away or they trade top prospects to get a name and lure in some guys and payout, but what remains is that they have another bevy of guys on the farm to repeat the cycle over and over again.
Other than Tiger catching the golden bear, which probably isn't going to happen, the hit streak is the only other one I really wanna see matched or broken. That's really it. The Home run thing will never be matched from a fan perspective from what we saw in '98 and the subsequent Bonds years.
