2026 MLB Season Thread

Nice pitching matchups in the afternoon games today:

Scherzer/Nola

DeGrom/Bumgarner

Acuña wears a cool uniform :nthat:

kid is definitely the goods, fun to watch fa sure ...

3 straight games without a run for the Nats. A new franchise record for futility.

wow i'm just hearing about how the Rays use this kid Ryne Stanek to start games to just face hitters 1-5/6 and then they put it in the normal starter with the hopes of the starter only having to face hitters 1-5 twice, rather than 3 times. and then also to help align things for the relievers. interesting concept

They've been using an 'opener' for a little while now. Old baseball purists hate that it's working :lol.

I don't know if it could work every day for a 162 game season but 2-3 times a week if your rotation is suspect? Sure.

the catcher for the South Korea LLWS team is a BIG boy...dude feeding the stereotype for sure lol
