2026 MLB Season Thread

Not related to MLB but I am excited about this

Red Storm baseball is heading to Supers

They reported on the broadcast that apparently Sanchez flapped his glove at a kid and the kid thought he wanted to play catch. The kid was removed from the game. Feel bad for the kid if so.

The report says the kid was 13. I am not trying to be a d**k, but at 13 years old, you know better. If the kid was 6, I get it.

The new fun thing for the pro-salary cap guys is to post that the median salary is less than $1mil as to say the players union doesn't care about their players.

spotrac lists 1235 MLB contracts this year. 679 make less than $1mil. 125 make between $1,000,001 - $2mil. 70 make between $2,000,001-$3mil. $3,000,001-$5mil is 77. Only 28% of players or 357 make above $5mil.

The 800+ between $700K-$2mil are guys on 40-man not in the majors, veteran minimums, guys trying to hold onto the league, and rookie scale through arb 1 contracts and relievers.

2/3 of the league is paid peanuts, and the owners are out here complaining like putting together a team is impossible.

Put money in on your own accord, and your team will perform better, increasing attendance, making more money, and increase franchise evaluation.

75 guys make $20mil or more. 95 more make $10mil - 20mil

Not sure where a team like the Rockies, Pirates, etc. think this will have them in on top free agent names suddenly.

Right now, big market teams can absorb risks and sunk costs. What a salary cap will do will then allow them to put their resources elsewhere, but also ignore many of those good, not great players that don't carry you to a world series, but add to an already built foundation and instead they'll be built on stars, emerging players/role players, and developing talent.

Besides the crooked NBA refs, who are all in on the fix, MLB officials are absolutely terrible and with advancements in technology, they are no longer needed. Just move completely to the ABS system for everything.

Bleep the umpire union and ALL unions for that matter!

16 years ago, bro...pre-challenge era

Imo, ABS and challenges have improved umpire quality immensely. And if that check swing tech that was posted in here gets applied, baseball gonna be in a much much better place.
