2026 MLB Season Thread

First of all, you quoted yourself you weirdo.

Second of all, don’t ever deny being a Padres fan again.

i tried quoting mr jordan since he changed my quote but apparently you can't. makes it look like i quoted myself :lol

i'll stop denying it when you stop denying being a Brady fan ;)

He hasn't hit that good since 2019:

20 and 21 were good seasons for him.
Any AVG above .300 is very good so that .294 is solid to me.
The NATS team morale was low so i dont blame the numbers for last year lol

They should have like 3 or 4 guys in the running for NL ROY If they play Vargas, Outman and pitch Miller and Pepiot alot this season.

If Cruz/Carpenter DH combo pans out and they combine for 30+ HR’s this season I’ll be happy.

I don’t want to see Ohtani in Dodger blue in 2024
Whoever buys the Angels should expect to allocate another $500 mil to sign Ohtani

I don’t think the Dodgers would be willing to sign him super long term. Some team out there will be willing to give him close to 15 years probably

Dodgers will counter and say we’ll give you 6 years

No way, any and every team with any chance at Ohtani will throw everything at him. Money, years, perks, first borns, whatever. If they’re not willing to, they should be.

I seriously hope the Angels get bought by Lacob or Bezos and make the playoffs next season.

I want Lacob to buy the A's. Obviously seeing the Padres and Dodgers lap my Giants isnt doing anything in terms of causing us to try to compete. Maybe if the A's start operating like a real Major League team in our own backyard it will light a fire under the team.

Bryan Reynolds really worth an ultra high-upside arm or nah?
I read that the Pirates want a Juan Soto sized haul for Reynolds....which of course is laughable. Reynolds is good, but come on. Pirates gonna Pirate.

Every team will make their pitch to him, but only a couple will be willing to go all in (max years/total contract). Dodgers have that capability, but based how their front office works, I don’t see them offering a super long deal (like other teams will be willing to risk)

They did, due to the team control. Hope everyone tells them to kick rocks

It seems like the main issue is with the city of Oakland why they lost the Raiders, Warriors, and probably soon the A's why they all left Oakland. The politics all refused to support anything to replace where the A's/Raiders played at and next door at Oracle where the Warriors played at for over 30 years.

If this happens then I’m going to find Stan Kasten and scream in his face. Getting out of the repeater tax should be for this very scenario they better give Shohei a blank contract and let him fill it in.

Ohanti also I've read a few articles on the athletic , espn, etc saying Ohtani is a rare type of baseball player who may or may not be attracted to the big markets like LA, SF, NYC, Chicago which is why he signed with the Angels when he first came to MLB from Japan. The Angels are in Orange County which isn't in the city or county of LA. Arte Moreno just changed the team to LA Angeles for money reasons.
