The point being is, CP feels like Brady “fell”… although he was drafted in his proper positioning, dude shared snaps for two years with a 5* recruit who Lloyd Carr clearly thought was better, but Brady should’ve gone higher?

NFL scouts definitely hold that type of stuff against draft picks. “Hey Tom, why’d you share snaps with Drew Henson?”… well “cool” you’re still going round 4 or later

Washington only had 5 picks with plenty of roster holes. We already have a backup QB in Mariota who filled in very well when needed. Teams with SB aspirations aren’t worried about being cheap with their backup QB. Foles changed that.

Eagles came into the draft with 8 picks and ended up making 10 selections while adding another pick to their 2026 draft.. you can make moves throughtout the process, inclusive of a move up in the 1st (granted 1 spot but still gave up 1 of those 8 picks)

Teams have always valued backups because they could be used as trade assets.. I know all the mike hologrem tree guys had that philosophy and it’s why eagles always valued getting QBs to develop

But it ain’t just because of the eagles backup QBs started making more than decent about of starting backs.. hence why getting a backup on a 2nd or later I good business.. or a starter on any rookie deal
