2025 NBA Draft Thread

I like Jalen Brunson but I’m most excited for this year’s Summer League for my boy Deuce to destroy.

He’s coming out 1st rnd in this draft. Falling, albeit to just early 2nd, in an all time stacked draft.
The path seems daunting but trust JB is still playing stand-in for my boy. Maybe by same age but I’m gonna figure a little sooner.

Better athlete is Deuce & imo it’s freaking awesome to have both. Supposedly. But eventually the game game slows down & the craft picks up. Defensive chops. My guy goes after them. Easily 8, 5 & 5 off the bench with better team basketball given the leash he deserves.

QB. Needs the ball in his hands to make others better. If the Knicks don’t he’s a prototype for Miami.

The younger better of the short guards better be learning the craft & excelling where t-rex-armed JB falls short.

The guard rotation is so stacked right now I’d love to offload IQ in a surprise bid for some win now action.

Victor Wembanyama, No. 1 NBA draft prospect in 2023, changing teams in France, sources say

The most coveted NBA draft prospect in the world is on the move.

Victor Wembanyama, ranked No. 1 on the 2023 ESPN mock draft, has opted out of his contract with ASVEL Villeurbanne and is signing a two-year contract with Boulogne-Levallois Metropolitans 92 from Paris, a source told ESPN.

The 7'3, 18-year old with a 7'9 wingspan and 9'7 standing reach has wowed NBA executives for the better part of three years now with his exceptional combination of fluidity, perimeter skill, shot-blocking instincts, and feel for the game, cementing himself as the likely No. 1 pick barring a major surprise. He was named French LNB Pro A Best Young Player of the year two years in a row.

Wembanyama was pursued by teams and leagues around the globe, including G League Ignite, the Australian NBL, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Paris Basket and many others.

Wembanyama will be coached by long-time French national team head coach Vincent Collet, who has been at the helm of the Tokyo Olympic silver medalists since 2009. Collet has won several titles domestically in France also, being named Coach of the Year in France on five separate occasions, including most recently this season.

Collet coached then-19-year old Nicolas Batum in Le Mans prior to him entering the NBA Draft in 2008, giving him an opportunity to showcase himself in the Euroleague despite his youth. He's well-regarded for his player development ability and willingness to showcase young players, which played a major role in Wembanyama's decision.

Wembanyama had an opt-out clause in his contract with ASVEL that needed to be executed by June 29th, which he ultimately did after the team ended their playoff run with a championship in a five-game series over Monaco.

Wembanyama played 33 of 76 possible games this season in the Euroleague and France, dealing with several minor injuries which played a role in his departure. He averaged 9.4 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.8 blocks in 18 minutes per game in Pro A France, shooting 61% from 2-point range and converting 70% of his free throw attempts.

Love Deuce but don’t see any JB in his game. You can tell Deuce was a football player growing up .He’s a bit more stiff than Jalen but he shoul def work on improving his spot up 3s and beating close outs when he proves he can be consistent from 3. Still like his upside but he’s basically going to be an off ball guard that plays good defense and knocks down 3s, IMO. Hopefully he develops because I really liked him coming out of WVU.

Is there a reason why the Miami Florida Heat participate in the California Classic instead of the 4th California team…?

Is this too early?

Someone from 247 says he might end up being considered the best HS player regardless of class by the end of the summer

As for Boozer, the kid hasn’t even started his sophomore year and there’s really not much left to say. His argument as the top player in high school hoops regardless of class was made a little stronger on Wednesday as he competed, and sometimes dominated, players that are three or four years older than him. One thing that probably isn’t debatable about Boozer are his hands. Years ago, when Kevin Love was coming up the strength of his hands, the touch he had and how he used them to get position made him something special, Boozer is in that realm. Again, he’s going to be lots of fun to watch over the years.
