As far as lose their account entirely or online account, I would imagine it can be a number of factors. Anything from:

- Shops choice (upkeep of website sales too much for a small staff or store, other factors)
- Get caught selling product early by Nike
- Unable to move product quotas
- Behind on bills/invoices/payments

etc, etc.

Thanks! Makes sense. Seems like it'd be a hard decision to do that b/c I'm sure nike still attracts a lot of other people but they probably don't come without their share of requirements either.

nah file a claim against him, I hate non paying bidders, he could have just cancelled his bid before the auction ended

Recently had this happen, though I got no response from the buyer.

I believe you are supposed to contact (which you have done), give 48 hours, then you can file a unpaid item case/claim. Ebay then notifies the buyer, and buyer has something like 5 days to pay. If they don't, they close the case (or you close manually depending on your settings) and you are saved the final value fee, etc and can re-list at that time. I'm not sure how cancelling is different, though it probably is. Ebay has decent FAQs, so you can look it up. It's probably easier and quicker, but maybe not as thorough when it comes to having a record.

cancelling can screw you because the buyer has to accept the cancel, if you send it and he doesn't then eBay still tries to get the 10% out of you :{

Thanks, and yea I agree. I just wish Ebay had a third and/or faster option which would take into account that the buyer is admittedly unwilling to pay.

Thanks for all the input guys, don't have any info on what the strikes actually do and I didn't know about the cancellation thing leading to a charge, so thanks for that info @StillIn729

yeah no problem and then you have to call eBay customer service which is absolutely horrible, one step below calling Verizon or Comcast
 
I've had really good experience with ebay phone support. 100% success rate with all issues I've encountered. I dunno, I'm very polite on the phone maybe that helps

"Hello. This is Tina Gray my son has this ebay account and won your shoes. My son was arrested last night. He won't be able to buy your shoes unfortunately. I'm tending to all his business because he will be gone for awhile. Sorry for any issues this may cause. I'm not sure how ebay works but I will be closing this account down until he comes home from prison. Sorry again for this inconvenience."

My son's brain spontaneously combusted so he won't be able to exist for a while and I'm shutting down his account until further notice! Thanks for your patience with this lil debacle.

Those strikes do nothing as far as I know. I have 1 myself from years ago when I cancelled on paying for an car part I'd found for cheaper after "commiting to buy". I contacted seller to let him know I wouldn't be able to buy part anymore and he said that's fine but he'd have to do the claim thing and put tally against me. and I told him I understood and it was fine. This was like 2010 and I've never had an issue with bidding or purchasing anything since.
 
I wasn't even going to waste my time with it.  I just cancelled it and resisted.  Some people...

Thanks for the info. Do you sell on Ebay at all?  I'm thinking the strikes may affect that end..

if you pay for some of the things you win then eBay just ignores the "Strikes"

back in the day it was two strikes and your account was suspended but not it's 100% a buyers market

yeah my old user ID got suspended for not paying for something a friend won on my account when I lived in Ocean City, MD for the summer when I was at work.

It was literally my 1st ever strike and I got suspended and I had paid won and paid for hundreds of items prior to that with no strikes. This was back in 2002 and I had to make a new user name. Once eBay went corporate it all changed.

I actually got a class auction lawsuit check from eBay a few years ago for a pair of sunglasses I had won in 2006 when eBay wouldn't give you a full refund if a seller had less than 10 selling transactions they would only give you like 40% back if they screwed you and didn't send the item. :{

eBay is a crooked company but they got a monopoly on the auction site market so you have no choice but to use them.

I just hope the price of the burnished dunks will be lower down the road but it might be a longshot just because its a tier 0.
