2024 NIKE SB DUNK THREAD_____GRs and QSs added

I would not spend too much time fantasizing about the trades you will get from the catches left over after 48 hours. They won’t last 48 minutes.

I live in a tiny town in Alaska, there's like 3 sneakerheads here including me. This is the same shop that I've put people here onto because they've had a ton of limited stuff just sitting around collecting dust. This isn't my first rodeo, I know how things work here.

size 9 $140 price...(This item comes packaged with a T shirt or hat of your choice. (restrictions apply) )

Talked to my friend today, he got a single fsr of the strangeloves, all in the teal boxes except size 9 and 12, which came in the rainbow boxes, which he said is going to be the new qs box going forward. He also told me that Nike made a big deal about telling him he couldn't sell any through insta, that they need to be sold locally and not before the 7th. I asked if that meant I could show up cash in hand and buy more than one pair, he said he's doing one per customer on release day but if they're sitting after the first 48 hours or so it's fcfs for locals on whatevers left, and I'm going to scoop whatever I can to use for trading purposes. If that ends up happening, I'll update this thread with what sizes I was able to grab and let people make trade offers, NOT cash, for them. I'm not trying to make money off them, but I wouldn't feel bad trading shoes for other shoes, does that make me a dickhead?
If you truly want to help people out, just allow them access to purchase for retail through the shop after the first 48 hours. You posted that shop allows orders via DM. There’s no need for you to post sizes in here, let them go straight to the source.

You guys think Strange Loves gunna be hard? Any predictions on after-market prices?

Not really in the "in" when it comes to SB... but I am very interested in the SL! Just hit up a few shops down here in SD so here's hoping that I get a call!

Im not in the know but it looks like less shops got these than the Haloween dunks. People should help the owners when reps come thru with samples and mock ups asking about the next years purchases.

The shop does usually allow dm orders, but Nike specifically told him that these have to be sold locally, not online in any way. He said that tracking chip **** is real, and isn't trying to lose his account over this release.

past pages with the shadows sold out

hopefully there will be more upcoming

feeling way better about my chances getting plums than strangeloves at this point. i don't think sb dunks were this scarce even in their first heyday.

Just flipped a pair of shoes in preparation to pay resale on the SL. I really want the special box but the price is insane, so I’ll be buyIng the regular box version if and when I strike out. I dont see it dropping that low in price too, seems like a lot of shops are very limited in quantity. If it drops to $300ish I might be able to double up on them from today’s flip.

It's hard to tell though. We didn't have the SNKRS app in the equation back then. I'm assuming most of their allocation is going into that now. Which means the barrier of entry into sb dunks is next to nothing.

The average Joe can jump in on any drop at any time without having to know what's coming and what shop is getting what. Just load into the app at 10am, hope it doesn't crash, and click the button like the rest of us. In essence, that makes it harder, or at least less likely, for dunk diehards to cop. Because it took that insider edge away. They made it "easier" for the everyman.

The reason the skate shops are getting nickled and dimed by Nike now is mainly because even a whisper of backdooring or rellers is going to taint the Nike brand by association. They don't give a **** about shops backdooring. They give a **** that a mom and pop has the potential to hurt a billion dollar company. PR costs money. And so does distribution. It's cheaper and easier for Nike to sell direct to consumer.

Nike partially sees these releases as them doing a favor for these shops by giving them a few pairs. And keeping a small allocation going to the skate community helps keep appearances that NikeSB still "gets it." It keeps the nostalgia of what it used to be like to get these things alive.

But truth is, if Nike didn't think pulling these shoes out of skate shops would result in some backlash from the community and an eventual dropoff in the quick-cash hype, they would've been done with these shops altogether by now. It's just business to them.
