Please elaborate. I'm not sure I understand.
Do you mean Nike is refusing to do store collabs?
Maybe too much time/labor and not enough revenue/guap?
I've heard this too, but no one really elaborate on it.
I don't see how, most of the recent collabs have been hits. Exceptions being the last BPs and Made For Skates....FullKits/Dorthys could fit this too.
Key word "in store"
Nike is basically Apple in terms of how they run things
I don't see why Nike would take away the ISO.... the shop covers all the cost of the ISO packaging and extras....
That would suck if they did
Basically, even though the shops cover the costs, it looks bad when 'exclusives' sit. Outside of i want to say Premier and CNCPTS, everything has been sitting.
The ****** part is, Nike instructs the shop owners to keep their mouth shut and not comment 'officially' on their collabs. Exceptions given to a few spots. It sucks
because that gives one week for a store to hype/market their shoe. One week of hype in SBs isn't enough. Especially since we are in the days of 'Lets wait for the
shoe to be on clearance'.
Thats why i always cop from shops directly that do these collabs to support the shops. It wasn't enough for a few reasons.
1. A lot of awesome ideas get shot down by nike because they're in fear of lawsuit (example: The Beverly Hills Hotel Dunk)
2. Some shops get the go ahead, but sadly they don't have the creative expertise behind it. Material knowledge ect....
3. Most of SB loyalists not wanting to pay full price (its your own right to do so)
but this is the result of it.
I'll tell y'all like this. As a collector, i'm gonna grab them Atlas dunks (both pairs) if possible and x2 of the Paul Bunyon dunks. They legit might be
the last we see of dope exclusive instore collabs of kicks. The rest will be what we've seen. Like the 2016 releases? All been garbage so far. Most likely
gonna cut back completely on SBs. I love store collabs because its SKATING. and i *** with skate culture heavy.
