This may derail the thread lmao but I was wondering since we are all into SB's which arent really the main stream of sneakers compared to Jordans and other nikes such as lebrons, what are you guys into clothing wise? I feel like everyone in here would have a different taste than the common person so I'm just wondering

I've always been a t-shirt and jeans kind of guy, and the occasional cargo shorts.

Any advice you received work? I just received a pair of Papa Bears I found off CL and they reek of smoke. Other than that they look brand new but I cannot give them as a gift in this condition. I'm trying each shoe in their own ziploc bag with a dryer sheet both in the shoe and one in the bag (not touching the shoe other than the sole). Even the damn box stinks so I put them in the box and used some lose dryer sheets in there as well.
I'm always forgetful to ask about smoke free homes when looking to buy online.

I've never had good luck with dryer sheets... they're just scented sheets with chemical softeners and generally just mask the smell.

I've heard people swear by the freezing method, but I've never had good luck myself. Part of the problem is the number of chemical compounds contained in heavy smoke; many of them will not dissipate completely with the freezing method (unless you have happen to have access to a vacuum freezer, which would be excellent). 

What I have had some success with:

- Baking soda: I've filled an entire ziploc jumbo bag (plus shoe) with baking soda and let it sit for a week. A bit of a pain to clean the baking soda out of the shoe, but the results were decent... enough that I couldn't smell the smoke when wearing the pair any more.

- Activated charcoal/carbon: Like the stuff in brita filters and fish tank filters. You can usually find reasonably priced jugs of it at pet stores with an aquarium section. Harder to clean out if it comes in contact with the shoes, so some type of bag to put it in inside a ziploc with the shoe is a good idea. You can also buy floss filters filled with charcoal (like these) for fish tank filters to save some of the hassle (just give a shake first to make sure there's no carbon dust floating around.

- Cedar chips/shavings: The kind that you use for hamster cages and the like. Similar to the cedar shoe tree suggestion (I don't have spare trees and haven't had time to look), but I've had some luck filling a bag with cedar shavings and letting it sit. Shavings are used in pet cages to help absorb odors, and it works pretty well with smoke. You can also buy the shavings in a bag (like these).

- Time. it's the most difficult one, and takes the longest, but giving them some fresh air and wearing them outside will eventually help the odor dissipate.

They look ok to me, but if I had to pick something out, the back looks 'too tall'.  Meaning the collar comes up past the pull tab quite a bit.  What size are they? And can you get a picture of the inside tag?  Best way to LC is with the inside tag.  I think they are ok though, but don't just take my word for it...
